Season One Of THE FLASH Adds A New Rogue In The Form Of 'Girder'
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) sure is going to have his hands full during the first season of The Flash as it has been revealed that Tony Woodward, a.k.a. Girder, will be making an appearance in the series. There's no word on who will play him, but read on for further details!
With Weather Wizard set to appear in the pilot and Wentworth Miller cast as Captain Cold, season one of The Flash is quickly putting together a superpowered rogues gallery for Barry Allen which could soon see the formation of, well, The Rogues! TV Line reports that episode 6 will see the introduction of recurring character, Tony Woodward a.k.a. Girder. In the comics, Woodward is thrown into a vat of molten steel which includes scraps from S.T.A.R. Labs experiments after assaulting a female co-worker. Those scraps convert his body into living iron and imbue him with superhuman strength and a high resistance to harm, though he does rust. However, The CW series describes this version of the character as someone who used to bully young Barry in the schoolyard. Now, as a result of the particle accelerator exploding, Woodward is "a grinning lunkhead who loves destruction," and an "unstoppable force… who can transmute any part of his body into solid steel." Girder was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, and first appeared in 2001's Flash: Iron Heights series. What do you guys think about this latest addition to the show?
