PREACHER: Seth Rogen Announces That The Show's Upcoming Fourth Season Will Be Its Last

Alas, the upcoming fourth season of Preacher will be a last hurrah for Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy, as co-showrunner Seth Rogen has announced that the AMC series is coming to an end. Check out a brief teaser.

Despite improving pretty significantly as it went on with season 3 being its strongest by far, Preacher has been cancelled by AMC, and will wrap-up after the fourth season which is set to air on August 4.

Co-showrunner Seth Rogen took to Twitter to share the news, and debut a footage-free teaser.

The season 3 finale seemed to set up one of the most popular arcs of Garth Ennis' comic series, "War in The Sun", which sees Jesse and Tulip arrive to Masada to rescue Cass from the clutches of Her Starr and The Grail with a certain unkillable cowboy hot on their trail.

It remains to be seen if Rogen and co. decide to focus on that story to end the series, or jump forward to the source material's apocalyptic conclusion, "The Alamo."

Tell us, will you be sad to see Preacher go, or do you think it had run its course? Drop us a comment down below.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Just saw that myself...that is some real BS! how many zombie shows do they need? AMC is quickly losing my goodwill!

@blitzburgh - yeah the first season was terrific, truly harrowing television. The second season is taking place on some Asian island during WW2.

@HeavyMetal4Life - AMC hasn't been the same for a while. I miss when they had the 1-2 punch of Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

Fell off during season 3. It just lost so much momentum.

Season 1 is still the best.

Season 3 was by far and away the best season and the one where I felt they really embraced the source material, but yeah I guess this show didn't garner a large enough following for AMC to keep it alive.

WTF?! Now, I'm really sad!

I loved last season, especially the scene with Herr Starr and TC lmao!

Dammit man! Will there be anymore good shows?

GOT is ending, they took away Daredevil. This is rough.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Please recommend some new shows for me. I feel like I either have a ton to watch or none cause I've powered through them all.

Watching Doom Patrol, finished Umbrella. Finished Altered Carbon, on ep 2 of Hannah, American Gods, The Chi, fell asleep on Barry last night tho.

@PrincessLeather - some of the best shows currently on:
Agents of SHIELD
The Expanse
Westworld

You also have The Terror from AMC. And if you're talking about off air shows, you have stuff like Justified.
PrincessLeather
PrincessLeather - 4/8/2019, 2:04 PM
@Soos - Same. I feel like I wait at least 4 episodes for something awesome to happen.

Too long to move the story and I'd love a lil mo God action but...

@HeavyMetal4Life Gonna add The Expanse, my dad has been telling me about it for a while now. I don't miss an episode of Westworld!

Need to catch up on Shield and I need soemthing to fill in my Penny Dreadful & Outcast void so I will start "Terror"
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/8/2019, 2:13 PM
@PrincessLeather - Glad to help! Yeah, The Expanse is probably the best sci-fi show on tv right now.

If you want some comedy i can give recommendations too.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Finished Maniac a few weeks ago and that show gave me some good gut laughs. Love Silicon Valley too

I love all kinds of shows EXCEPT stuff like This is Us, not into crying ever week... l
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/8/2019, 2:23 PM
@PrincessLeather - the comedies I watch are Brooklyn 99 and Impractical Jokers. I also just started What We Do In The Shadows which so far has been good.

If you're into horror comedy, watch Ash v Evil Dead, which was one of the best shows out there. But you need to be familiar with Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness before watching that.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I need to catch up on Ash! I think I stopped mid 2nd season.

@EskimoJ I plan on binging AOS.

Sad to say we gave up on Flash this past season
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/9/2019, 6:28 AM
@PrincessLeather - yeah definitely do that, to both SHIELD (my favorite show currently on TV) and Ash v Evil Dead.

I'm close to giving up on The Flash. Will stick with it and Black Lightning next season, but if neither improves I'm throwing in the towel.

@Soos - Well in fairness to everyone despite losses in ratings (although all shows have dropped in ratings) the two most watched shows on cable television are the two Walking Dead, they beat their competition week after week. And unlike Preacher AMC actually owns The Walking Dead.
