THE BOYS Amazon Adaptation Casts JESSICA JONES Actress Erin Moriarty As Starlight
The first cast member for Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen's upcoming TV adaptation of Garth Ennis Darick Robertson's The Boys has been announced. Erin Moriarty will play Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight...
Deadline has revealed that Amazon's upcoming adaptation of Garth Ennis Darick Robertson's twisted comic book series The Boys has added its first cast member.
Erin Moriarty (Kings of Summer, True Detective), who played the ill-fated Hope Shlottman on Marvel's Jessica Jones, will play Starlight, "a young woman with superhero powers who can make lightning bolts flash from her eyes. Her dream is to be a real superhero like the famous Seven."
In the comics, Annie is recruited to be a member of The Seven, but the rest of her teammates turn out to be the scum of the earth. She eventually starts up a friendship with The Boys' new recruit Wee Hughie, though neither is aware of the other's "day job."
The Boys hails from Sony Pictures TV Studios, which will co-produce with Amazon, and Neal H. Moritz’s studio-based Original Films.
