4.8 Million viewers in Adults 18-49
4.2 Million viewers in Adults 25-54
7.3 Million total viewers for premiere
11 Million total viewers for the night

“The Walking Dead is one of those rare television programs that reaches both a core genre fan as well as broad audiences simply looking for a great, character-based story,” said AMC president Charlie Collier. “That The Walking Dead is now the most watched drama in the history of basic cable is staggering, just like our zombies.”

Love the show. Now maybe AMC will start investing more into this series instead of allowing the creator of "Mad Men" to monopolize the network.

The episode was ehhh, but i was happy with a few things
1. the introduction of zombie herds
2. Carl finding the "equipment" INCLUDING Rick's Hatchet :)
3. the last 30 seconds of the episode :D

So overall it was good

the opening Highway scene with the zombie herd traveling was phenomenal... There was about 15 minutes of straight tension in that scene.... The character development, great acting & great direction has me caring for everyone of the main characters.. There is not on person in the group that I dont like and I dont want anyone of them dying which made that opening scene so tense because i feared one of them was going to die.... GREAT SHOW......

Pretty crazy to go up against Dexter, but for me, that means more stuff for me to watch so I can't complain. I'm glad WD did well on it's premiere, considering it IS a zombie show. But when you have the writer/director of The Mist/Green Mile/Shawshank Redemption, you can't expect it to suck haha, cause it won't.
