John Hawkes Is NOT Going To Play The Governor In THE WALKING DEAD

Rumor had it The Walking Dead producers were looking at Academy Award nominated actor John Hawkes to play The Governor in the next season of the hit show, according to his publicist he will not be taking the part.

A couple of days ago we brought you some information that MovieWeb posted while talking with actor Tom Savini. Savini, who is actively campaigning to play The Governor in AMC's hit zombie show The Walking Dead, said his good friend Greg Nicotero told him they were perusing John Hawkes for the role.

The Wrap has spoken to Hawkes' publicists who told them that he will Not be taking part in the show. "John is NOT appearing on The Walking Dead," said the publicists closing the door on the rumor. As far as if Savini is being considered for the part now that Hawkes has turned it down is still up in the air. Keep checking CBM daily for the latest updates on The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead will return on February 12 on AMC with the episode Nebraska.

It'll end up being a nobody. I can't imagine them wanting to fork over the $$$ for a name actor who could steal the show from the rest of the actors.

Probably would've elevated the level of acting on the show, which currently is in the shitter. Can't even watch it. Rick is the worst of them.

Savini!!!!!

Please just dont get rid of Shane for a wandering black female samurai.I know the show is fiction but such a character would take away from its believability.

I can just picture a seen where she "puts Shane in his place" or Daryl. and then he/they come to respect her...*eye roll!*
