Possible Major Spoilers Revealed About Shane's Fate In THE WALKING DEAD

It was recently revealed that Jon Bernthal (Shane) is circling Frank Darabont's new pilot L.A. Noir, leading to speculation that his time on The Walking Dead is coming to an end! So, is it true?

SpoilerTV point out the following post from The Walking Dead forum, Roamers And Lurkers, in which on of their members claims to be a part of the production team and goes on to reveal Shane's fate in the second half of the current season. It is of course best to take it with a huge pinch of salt. WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

Shane does not make it through the season, essentially Lori puts into his head that if Rick wasn't around they would still be together. This makes Shane change AGAIN, (he had finally made peace and Lori [frick]ed him up again). Anyway he decides to kill Rick and lures him into the forest chasing after someone you will meet in "Nebraska". Of course Rick isn't stupid he realizes nothing is adding up and tries to give Shane a chance to abandon his plans. Believe it or not Rick loves Shane like a brother, anyway he finally calls Shane on it and Shane basically tells him how Carl and Lori will get over his death. Shane has a gun pointed at Ricks face and seconds away from shooting, when Rick starts to negotiate his way out of it, all along pulling a knife out. Long story short he lunges at Shane and buries the knife in his chest.

If you've read The Walking Dead comic book series, you'll know that Shane dies at the end of the first volume after he is shot by Carl while attempting to murder Rick. Several volumes later, Rick returns to the spot where he buried him, digs him up and shoots the now zombie Shane. However, it seems as if the TV show will go in a very different direction.

SHANE COME'S BACK TO LIFE AS A ZOMBIE! - Carl shoots him, the whole thing is pretty [frick]ed up. All this causes Rick to slowly change into a Shane if you will, believe me the show is going somewhere so crazy that Shane's death will not even be a burden, he served his purpose by helping Ricks character transform.

What do you guys think? True or not, it makes for an interesting read! Don’t miss the return of The Walking Dead on AMC at 9/8c on Feb 12, 2012.

HE lunges at Shane? The [frick]... That totally destroys Carl's story mechanic that will be a major factor in the future seasons! [frick] YOU AMC.

We have to remember that this is tv and they dont want a 11 year old killing people, not even undead ones. I just want him dead already to help make room for characters more pertinent to the story line. Him a "DAWG"...OMFG I hate that character!!

Damn. i like Shane on this show. I mean he has served his purpose, and is due for some bad shit to come his way, but i really don't want to see him gone.

it will be interesting to see Rick turn into a guy like Shane though.

lol rick kills shane? Season 2 is such a crapfest. Theyve stretched hersehel's farm so long theyll probably make the prison stay into 3 whole seasons. Hopefully Darabont steals Norman Reedus away too so the only 2 decent actors the show has can go to a real show.

if they don't let Carl kill Shane... then.. I have doubts about a certain lady's death then in the future from the comics. These moments are vital to Rick and Carl's characters, and their deep layers.
