The Walking Dead Season 2 Filming 3 miles from my house... Maybe?!

I was driving down the street from my house and was bombarded by a very interesting sign.

So, I was driving just 3 miles from my house in Tucker Ga (just north of the Atlanta perimeter) when I saw this strange blinking sign:


I thought to myself: "That is awesome! Some city worker needs a high five for that prank!"

But as I passed the sign I noticed a lot of commotion at Henderson Park. That commotion included cranes, cameras, signs that pointed to "Extras" and "Actors", as well as numerous tents and a tremendous amount of security for a crappy little soccer field in the middle of Tucker Ga. There was definitely something being filmed there!


Now there were no signs saying what it is that they were filming so this is all speculative at the moment but let's look at the facts:

1)Walking Dead is being filmed in the Atlanta area
2)There was an awesome frickin' sign that warned of Zombies ahead
3)There was a tremendous area marked for "Extras only" (sounds like A LOT of Zombie extras to me!)

So, Walking Dead may be filming 3 miles from my house! I was totally taken off guard by this so I apologize for the crappy pictures (all I had wit me was a camera phone!). However, I will be keeping a close eye on this situation and will keep you posted!

I'm in Tucker for work, and saw parking for Extras at the mall today (23rd); they said it was for a Disney film, but I wondered if that was a lie. Googled, and found this post, which got me excited, especially since Henderson Park is less than 3 miles from my hotel.

I headed over there, and saw everything (text, signs, extras going home, cops, etc.) I talked to some of the crew, and they also said it was a Disney film. I saw stuff labeled "Every Thing Else," on one of the soccer fields that had their equipment. Still, because of the "Zombies" sign you posted, I figured they were lying. However, it was giving a 'slow traffic' warning when I drove by it.

I googled Disney filming this time, and I found this, which may confirm the Disney filming:

The security guard at the mall Extras parking did say he knew TWD was currently filming, and I'm still wondering about that 'zombies' sign you saw. I still may drive by there on the way to work, or after work tonight, just in case. ;)

The soccer field, film trucks, Extras tents etc, I saw are on the south west side. The traffic sign i saw looked different than yours. Are your photographs from the SW entrance, or the other one on the NE? The park is big enough there could be two crews on opposite sides and you wouldn't know, that'd be a huge coincidence though

The Zombie sign is on Henderson Rd. coming from Lavista. I drove by it this morning and it still read: "Zombies Ahead"

I think they are just doing it to torment me!
