AMC debuted the first full trailer for the upcoming 11th and final season of The Walking Dead last night during Comic-Con@Home, and it features three intense minutes of footage from what it shaping up to be an eventful 24 episodes.

Based on what we see here, it seems the conflict between Negan and Maggie will be the primary focus of the season (or at least, the first part of it). It looks like the two form an uneasy alliance at some point, but will Maggie ever really be able to coexist with the man who brutally murdered her husband right in front of her?

She may have no choice, because the entire group will be forced to band together when they come under attack from all sides, as new enemies emerge in the form of the ruthless Reapers and the mysterious Commonwealth.

Check out the new trailer below along with a promo poster and an updated synopsis.

'The Walking Dead,' Season 11 Key Art, Final Season, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Michael James Shaw

“Previously on The Walking Dead, our survivors confronted past demons and combated new threats, with friendships and relationships suffering from the mounting collateral damage that is the apocalypse. Alexandria is severely compromised, left a former shell of the home it once was from the carnage and devastation left behind by the Whisperers. Now all who live in Alexandria struggle to refortify it and feed its increasing number of residents, which include the survivors from the fall of the Kingdom and the burning of Hilltop; along with Maggie and her new group, the Wardens. Alexandria has more people than it can manage to feed and protect. Their situation is dire as tensions heat up over past events and self-preservation rises to the surface within the ravaged walls."

“They must secure more food while they attempt to restore Alexandria before it collapses like countless other communities they have come across throughout the years. But where and how? More haggard and hungrier than ever before, they must dig deeper to find the effort and strength to safeguard the lives of their children, even if it means losing their own. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to those at Alexandria, Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess are still being held captive by mysterious soldiers who are members of a larger and unforthcoming group.”

The final season of The Walking Dead kicks off on Sunday, August 22 at 9pm ET/8c on AMC.

This show has become painful to watch but I've come too far, I have to finish it. I must admit though, the Season 10 finale almost made up for the rest of the season. JDM is such a boss.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I'm with you. It really became a slog after they killed John Connor...err...Carl.

My better half controls the remote a lot when it comes to non sports related tv shows, I usually get a bigger say on movies. Since I'd rather spend quality time than sit in my office or media room doing my own thing, I've toughed out the last few seasons, although last year was a decent improvement. Guess we'll see it out til the end.

I really hope Andrew will return as Rick. Even though im not expecting it to be more than just the last episode, seeing him again would be great.

I personally hope the series goes out with a bang, because for the last few seasons Fear The Walking Dead has been better than the show that started it all.

(insert this show is still on? Comments here)

But seriously, anyone talking shit about this show hasn't watched Season 10.

Has TWD been amazing? No. But has it been pretty good? Absolutely.

Season 1-3 were very good. 4 and 9, yeah, pretty average to extremely painful at times. But S10 was really great, and really 9 was pretty good too.

And for those saying "it should've ended a long time ago". Um, it's based off of the Graphic Novel and they're literally following it sometimes to the exact panel so....they shouldn't have ended it if the goal is to....recreate the graphic novel. Which is why it's now ending with Season 11/12... because, it's the final New World Order storyline.
