Last night's Legends of Tomorrow featured the marriage of Ray Palmer and Nora Darhk, two characters played by real-life husband and wife Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford. The episode which was titled "Romeo V. Juliet: Dawn of Justness," also marked our farewell to their characters, something fans, and Routh himself, have responded negatively to.
TV Guide caught up with Routh shortly before his farewell aired, and it's not hard to read between the lines and see that the hunky former Man of Steel is disappointed with how it was handled.
"On one level, I'm happy [that Ray and Nora got married]," he revealed. "It's a future I did see for them so I don't think it's wrong that they're married," Routh told TV Guide. "But I think the journey to having it happen shouldn't have been forced. The exit is also very quick and forced, and so I have challenges with that on a personal level."
This is not the first time Routh has made his feelings known. Some might suspect that he has sour grapes about being informed he's no longer needed in Legends of Tomorrow, but it sounds like he just wanted a better exit for The Atom, something the show's fanbase will surely be able to relate to.
