The CW has released episode descriptions for their DC TV shows airing the week beginning February 20th, and it's clearly going to be a HUGE week for these characters. For starters, Mr. Mxyzptlk will invade National City as he declares his love for Supergirl in what sounds like a fun Valentine's Day episode. The character was first spotted in set photos, but we'll hopefully see something official soon.

Over in The Flash, Gorilla Grodd finally returns as the Scarlet Speedster races into action to rescue
Earth-2's Harrison Wells. That sounds awesome, though it sounds like Barry will actually be working with Grodd! Meanwhile, Arrow will beat Gotham City Sirens to it by assembling a team of female villains made up of familiar faces from the show's past. Which of these excites you guys the most?

Supergirl - "Mr. &
Mrs. Mxyzptlk"

DC COMICS’ MR. MXYZPTLK HITS NATIONAL CITY – When Mr. Mxyzptlk (guest star Peter Gadiot), a magical imp, shows up on Earth and declares his love for Kara (Melissa Benoist), she tries to let him down easy, thinking him harmless. However, he decides it’s a challenge and starts to wreak havoc on National City. Mon-El (Chris Wood) has seen beings like Mr. Mxyzptlk on Daxam and knows how dangerous they can be. He and Kara argue over how to get rid of Mr. Mxyzptlk, further straining their relationship. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together.   Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Jessica Queller & Sterling Gates.

The Flash - "Attack on Gorilla City"

BARRY AND TEAM TRAVEL TO GORILLA CITY AND FACE GRODD – When Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) informs the team that her father (Tom Cavanagh) has been abducted, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) voyage to Earth-2 on a rescue mission to save Harry from Gorilla City. As they trek through the forest, Barry and the team are immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov). Grodd tells them he needs their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David), the leader of Gorilla City, as Solovar wants to invade Earth-1. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Jesse and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) hit the streets to stop a metahuman that can control gravity, with H.R. and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) guiding them from S.T.A.R Labs. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & David Kob.

Arrow - "The Sin-Eater"

CHINA WHITE, CUPID AND LIZA WARNER BREAK OUT OF PRISON — China White (guest star Kelly Hu), Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick) and Liza Warner (guest star Rutina Wesley) break out of Iron Heights and head to Star City for revenge. Oliver (Stephen Amell) tries to bring in the newly formed girl gang but the ACU intervenes mid-fight. To his surprise, they are there to arrest the Green Arrow for the murder of Detective Malone. Meanwhile, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) feels responsible for the prison break after Warner tells him she heard about him working with Damien Darhk. Mary Lambert directed the episode written by Barbara Bloom & Jenny Lynn.

@McGee - Like many, I balked at the developments about this episode as they emerged, but I'll give it a chance when I see it. If I'd been doing a Mxy episode for this show, this is the direction I would've gone with:

Mxyzptlk arrives in National City to Kara's surprise. Turns out Earth provides 5th Dimensionites a bit of entertainment, but things have gotten boring for them. The reason he's in our dimension? To bring it a bit more levity. He feels that 21st-century Earth has gotten a bit too grim n' gritty, so he's setting out to make the world more funny. He's using National City as a 'test case', by injecting some more comedy into people's lives. Sooo....for the entire episode, he tries out a few different styles of comedy on the unwitting populace (save for Kara, who he left as a 'control'). The styles he cycles the city through homage a number of famous TV sitcoms:
-I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners (representing the 50's)
-Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In and The Monkees (representing the 60's)
-Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Bob Newhart Show (representing the 70's)
-Cheers and Murphy Brown (representing the 80's)
-Seinfeld and Friends (representing the 90's)

Playing Mxy would be either of these talented comic actors:
-Wallace Shawn
-Wayne Knight
-Wayne Brady
-Dana Carvey
-Or, if they wanted to skew younger, John Mulaney (despite his rep as being supposedly 'unfunny').

@FlixMentallo21 - I really like Mullany's stand up.

@DENNISsystem - Now that's reassuring. Thanks! I actually listened to his "What's New Pussycat?" bit a while ago, it was pretty funny.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot one other actor option--Jeff Ross.

I am wondering why LoT didn't release a synopsis for their episode of "Camelot/300". Odd.

Supergirl sounds interesting since it'll be the series's first two-part episodes arc just like The Flash did it with Earth-2 (and how they'll do it with Gorilla City now) I am hoping for some cool magic stuff from Mr. Mxyzptlk and the fact that Mon-El knows about 5th-dimensional imps from Daxam will further push him to close in on his past back there, who he is or used to be back there. We're gonna get closer to find out more about him.

The Flash sounds pretty darn exciting. It truly feels like a set-up for Grodd to make them take on the wrong foe, Solovar. Unless the twist is that Solovar and Grodd are in cahoots with each other! Maybe Solovar will have a change of heart later and Jesse Quick & Kid Flash team up sounds pretty exciting against this gravity meta. I think seeing and working with hi dad's doppelganger from Earth-19 will be interesting for Jesse.

Arrow now is gonna put Oliver on a hard place since the very same thing Adrian Chase warn him about in the mid-Season premiere is actually gonna come back to bite him. Lance and Liza Warner interaction will be interesting considering he convinced her to give up and surrender the last time. It's cool overall that Arrow brought back their female rogue gallery.

Looking forward to them.

@NinnesMBC - They didn't release the synopsis for the "Camelot/300" episode, cause it would spoil the appearance of Etrigan the Demon and Jason Blood.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 2/3/2017, 8:49 AM
@Faris - If only that were true after having read the actual synopsis.

Maybe he'll have a cameo or something. If not, there's always space for him in Legends S3.

Oh, cool! I was just thinking that it'd been a long-ass time since China White was out and about... She's been in prison since season two (despite popping up in the season three flashbacks).

These episodes all sound great! I'm super excited to see Mxyzptlk popping up on Supergirl, I'm curious to see how the Grodd episode is gonna play out on The Flash (I can't get TOO excited when I know budgetary restrictions are gonna be in play when depicting a massive city of super-intelligent gorillas), and I'm ALWAYS down to see Cupid on Arrow-- I'm a fan of the loony Harley Quinn rip-off.

Barry and the team go to gorilla city yet kid flash and jesse quick stay back on earth 1, what sense does that make? Who does Barry take with him that counts as "the team"? Iris? Julian? lol
PrimitiveMan
PrimitiveMan - 2/3/2017, 5:07 AM
@aflynn - Well you can't leave Earth-1's Central City unprotected in case some loony decides to attack. That would be incredibly dumb of them to bring all their fire-power to Earth-2, and leave Earth-1 defenseless.
aflynn
aflynn - 2/3/2017, 6:09 AM
@SSJ2VEGETA - Jesse's father is kidnapped but shes gonna be all you know what its okay I am gonna chill here with Kid flash?

Nonsensical, if anything you leave Kid flash with caitlin, julian, joe, hr, and Iris and trust they can get the job done.
PrimitiveMan
PrimitiveMan - 2/3/2017, 2:54 PM
@aflynn - Well you also have to take into account, Kid Flash and Jesse are romantically linked. We know how CW likes to push relationship/love drama. She probably just wants to have alone time with Wally to figure out how their future links up (if ever because they're literally from two different worlds)...

I want Gorilla Grodd to be the main villain of a season. I am starting to get tired of Speedster villains especially since Savitar is such an uninteresting villain.
