Deadline has just released an update on all the new television pilots, based on comic books, that ABC, FOX and the CW are developing. Let's start with ABC. They'll be introducing a new Marvel television series, Agent CarterHayley Atwell will reprise her role as Peggy Carter for the series, which is expected to only have 13 episodes and have Howard Stark  as a recurring character. The pilot was written by Captain America: The Winter Soldier screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stehen McFeely. Deadline reports:
Word has been that it would forgo a pilot and go straight to series. The script was finished more than three months ago (“the script is great,” ABC’s Paul Lee said back in January), the option on one-shot’s star Hayley Atwell came up and was extended, but the green light never came. Now there is talk that a pickup for Agent Carter may come along with a renewal for Marvel’s freshman Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with the new series possibly serving as a bridge between the fall and spring portions of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Do you like or hate the idea of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two being split into fall of 2014 and Spring of 2015?

As for Fox, they are working on a Batman-less television series that will provide us with stories revolving around Jim Gordon's early exploits in Gotham. Deadline reports: "Gotham is practically on the air." Then there is CW, which has done quite well with Arrow and are seeking to cash in on that success with a spin-off series for The Flash, starring Grant Gustin. They'll also see if Rob Thomas can produce another winner for them with his own comic book adaptation, iZombie. It's about a woman that happens to be a zombie. Luckily for her she works in a morgue and when she eats the brains of the dead she sees their memories. Deadline says both pilots are, "flying high."
