Fans have been throwing various names around for who should take the helm of The Inhumans for some time now, but it's fair to say that no one expected it to be...Roel Reine?! Marvel has confirmed today that the director of movies like Admiral and The Delivery will be in charge of the first two episodes, both of which premiere on IMAX screens before extended versions are then aired on ABC.

Born in the Netherlands, the filmmaker won the Golden Calf (the Dutch equivalent of an Oscar) for Best Director for his work on The Delivery, while Admiral was also a hit in his homeland. He also has some English language television experience thanks to his time spent on Michael Bay and STARZ's Black Sails, though it's still fair to say that most of us probably expected Marvel to go for a bigger name!

Marvel’s The Inhumans will premiere a version of the first two episodes first in IMAX commercial theatres, marking the first time a live-action television series has debuted in this manner. The series, produced in conjunction with ABC Studios and filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras, will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series in fall, with some exclusive content that can only be seen on the network.

Do you think Marvel has chosen wisely with Roel Reine? Let us know your thoughts down below.

@DigDugFunny - It would probably be in documentary form with Bush saying, "We're gonna get those Inhumans, now watch this drive."
