While Loki season 2 is a little more standalone than we anticipated, there have been some mighty intriguing Easter Eggs scattered throughout the first few episodes.
In last week's instalment, "1893," we met Kang the Conqueror Variant, Victor Timely. Thanks to the intervention of He Who Remains, as a boy, he discovered the TVA's official handbook and was able to use that to help him create a number of inventions which were long before their time.
In the comics, Victor Timely was actually just a persona Kang took on when he was trapped in the past. However, while He Who Remains confirmed during Loki's first season that he hailed from the 31st Century, the MCU's Victor appears to have been born in the 1800s (explaining why the villain felt the need to change things).
We don't currently know what the future holds in store for the mild-mannered Victor but one eagle-eyed fan has now spotted an Easter Egg which connects this Variant to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's Kang the Conqueror.
In the latest episode, we see Victor pick up a small ticking device he describes as "the culmination of [his] life's work." Upon closer inspection, the object appears to actually be a much smaller version of Kang's Time Chair.
What significance this has remains to be seen. It may be little more than an Easter Egg meant to show how similar all these Kang Variants are or a tease of what's to come. Either way, we're definitely intrigued and this Thursday's fourth instalment may well include some answers!
Just realised this from episode 3….
