MOON KNIGHT T-Shirt Reveals Another Look At Marc Spector's Mummy-Like Costume For The MCU

There's not too long to go until Marc Spector (and Steven Grant) makes his MCU debut in Moon Knight, and this new merchandise for the Disney+ series reveals another look at the unhinged hero's badass suit.

We didn't expect Moon Knight to be Marvel Studios' first Disney+ series of 2022, but after that intense first teaser, we cannot wait to explore the supernatural side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While recent comic books have portrayed the unhinged anti-hero as a vigilante akin to characters like Daredevil and Batman, this show promises to explore Marc Spector's ties to Ancient Egypt. He was essentially a monster-hunter of sorts during his early Marvel Universe appearances, hence why Moon Knight first showed up in the pages of Werewolf-by-Night #32 way back in 1975.

This take on the character has led to some changes to his costume, which can be seen clearly on another piece of merchandise for Moon Knight (via Hot Topic). It's a fun take on the hero and one we hope to see stick around rather than Marc getting a typical superhero suit.

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes (there's no mention of George Clooney). Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers.

Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.

Unfortunately i dont think the live action costume will look this good. From what i saw after watching the teaser the suit looks a little corny
Cap1
Cap1 - 1/21/2022, 6:03 AM
@thebagman - still holding out hope for this suit
tmp3
tmp3 - 1/21/2022, 6:03 AM
@thebagman - It’s got that bulk that the 90’s Spawn suit had

@tmp3 - yes! I was thinking about spawn when i saw it.

@thebagman - Disagreed. I think it'll look amazing, and certainly didn't come across as corny in the teaser.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 1/21/2022, 7:22 AM
@Cap1 - I'm sure if the show and character do well we'll eventually get to that. But it shouldn't make an appearance in the first season.
Cap1
Cap1 - 1/21/2022, 7:44 AM
@CorndogBurglar - yeah that’s fair, maybe at the tail end of the season but they were probably wise to go for the og outift. Isaac would look too good in the suit to miss the opportunity to do it eventually though
Origame
Origame - 1/21/2022, 8:02 AM
@Cap1 - they need to save that for season 3 at least. That isn't just a costume. That represents a massive amount of character development.

@thebagman - Absolutely disagree. The suit in the teaser looked dope as hell.

SnideCut - 1/21/2022, 8:25 AM
@tmp3 - considering the fact that the Spawn suit was probably the best thing about that movie, I'd say that's a good thing.

@thebagman - I thought it looked amazing, he has glowing white eyes like the comics. Wish the new reeves batman film did this....

@Cap1 - look to much like dare devil if it wasn’t for moon icon on mask and all white on outfit thought his costume was strike fear in people eyes like Batman and spawn what does this costume do?

If he was gangster or business man see it happen I haven’t read moon knight comics to know what hood this costume does for him
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/21/2022, 9:32 AM
@Origame - hey buddy for someone like me who doesn’t know a whole lot about the different versions of the char, can you elaborate on this for me? What’s the Mister Knight outfit represent?
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/21/2022, 9:34 AM
@SnideCut - it’s beefy and awkward in the helmet area but it’s one quick scene, will most definitely look way better in action. I didn’t think BP’s helmet in Civil War looked good in behind the scenes shots prior to trailer for film it looked like a bulky black helmet but it looked fine in actual film. Didn’t like how Battinsons helm looked in behind scenes, now the cowl is legitimately my favorite part of the Battinson costume, looks incredible in trailers IMO. So I’m not judging solely on two seconds of Moon Knight in costume here. For the record, never liked Netflix Daredevils cowl in s2 and 3 either. The nose was always weird
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/21/2022, 9:36 AM
@mastakilla39 - you can’t emote with white eyes in the same way. Those trailers, the amount of acting Pattinson does with his eyes alone, we need that. I need that. Maybe with Moon Knight it works due to multiple personality aspect.
Origame
Origame - 1/21/2022, 9:40 AM
@McMurdo - well it's a different one of his personalities that he uses when actually working alongside the police. Moon knight is traditionally on a one man crusade against crime, so this would sort of be the equivalent of the punisher deciding to work with the police (only making more sense due to his personality disorder).
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 1/21/2022, 10:17 AM
@McMurdo - I agree. There's something a little off with the face area. Not even the hood. That looks fine. But the face part of the mask looks a little too big.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/21/2022, 10:23 AM
@Origame - interesting. Thank you
Fogs
Fogs - 1/21/2022, 1:29 PM
@McMurdo - Mandalorian is the apex of good acting without even showing his face.

Bats' white eyes could've been implemented a looong time ago as some nice visor / HUD system embedded to the cowl. Even Bale's bats could have that in a certain point, maybe in the 2nd movie.

I feel that the suit looks a tad bit better in concept compared to what we see in the trailer. It's something that can be said for almost all costumes, but I think a it's a little more noticeable here. Hopefully with time, the execution of the design will improve.
Tpo81
Tpo81 - 1/21/2022, 7:05 AM
MCU usually do costumes pretty good, but I’m not liking the whole magical element to this suit or the the look of it. Seems like they over complicated it with the mummy wrap possessing his body
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 1/21/2022, 7:21 AM
@Tpo81 - My thoughts exactly! I'm hoping that he actually is just putting on a costume, and what we see in the trailer is just his crazy mind telling him that the suit is wrapping itself around him on its own.

I would have loved if they took the approach of Mark Spectre, and the viewers not really knowing for sure if Khonshu is real or just another voice in his head. But if the costume is coming alive like this and wrapping itself around his body on its own then there's no mistaking that Khonshu is real.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/21/2022, 10:37 AM
@CorndogBurglar - so they kill the mystery essentially by making the suit obviously magic off the bat

ThankMeLater - 1/21/2022, 7:58 AM
Man some real nitpickers in here. At this point people need to realize things have to change for live action renditions of certain characters. To always bring up the half-empty outlook is just beyond me. We are getting a damn Moon Knight show!

dragon316 - 1/21/2022, 9:08 AM
@ThankMeLater - that’s nothing new people nitpicking on comic accurate costume from show they should be lucky it’s not taskmaster type costume all high tech only thing resembles character is mask, Shang chi never whore his stupid looking goofy comic accurate costume in movie no one nit pick just on manderian rings.,

And externals costumes yeah some pop up here and there about costumes not a lot

I think the suit looks absolutely beautiful in live-action. Still trying to get over the fact that we're actually getting what looks to be a good Moon Knight adaptation.

It's an alright T-shirt but I wouldn't wear it,I'd find a better design.
AC1
AC1 - 1/21/2022, 10:54 AM
I quite like the overall look, but I wish the mask was darker or they could make it look like it's covered in shadow from the hood or something, at least in the eye area, because I think that's the only thing letting the overall look down. Darkening that area makes it look a bit more mysterious and intimidating, whereas what little we've seen in motion something about the mask just looks a little off.

Looks good for a first costume, but I’d like to see something that doesn’t look like Toilet paper wrapped around him after this series.

doesn't matter how great the concept or promo art is if they're just going to use shitty CGI- which they are
VicSage

IT doesn't happen often, but I have no idea where all the complaints are coming form. Usually I can see other's perspectives pretty clearly. Not this time. That is Moon Knight. Hood, cape, emblem, and suit. What were you all expecting? Really? I don't see how the translation isn't on the mark here. It's almost like David Finch's Moon Knight art come to life.

NinnesMBC - 1/21/2022, 1:42 PM
@VicSage - This "it's comic book accurate to a fault" is one of the most recent ilogical complains since 2020. It boggles my mind as well.
VicSage
VicSage - 1/21/2022, 5:02 PM
@NinnesMBC - I know. Comic book hero with powers from Egyptian God looks like a mummy superhero. The logic seems to follow. But people want him to be Batman in a white suit? Make it make sense. I think this is how Moon Knight SHOULD look. And am a little disappointed no one thought to put him in tattered mummy wraps before. Seems obvious. I love this take.
CalvinAmerica
CalvinAmerica - 1/21/2022, 7:23 PM
@VicSage - seriously. I love it

It looks good, they really went to make the costume to appear as the robes of a mummy.
CalvinAmerica
CalvinAmerica - 1/21/2022, 7:21 PM
I'm glad it looks dirty, unstark made, unsuper heroic and not some form fitting rubber suit. Can't wait to see him lurking in the shadows with only the eyes and cloak visible.
