She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany has confirmed that CGI will be used to bring her character, Jennifer Walters, to life when she turns green in the upcoming Disney+ series.
Fans have been wondering exactly how Marvel Studios intends to bring She-Hulk to life on screen, with many speculating that a combination of make-up and prosthetics might be used to transform the Orphan Black star into her larger-than-life alter-ego. However, Maslany revealed that "it's all CG" during an appearance on the Scott Hasn't Seen podcast.
"I'm in mo-cap the whole time," she added. "I'm on platforms with mo-cap where I have a little head on the top of my head."
This is the same technique utilized for the likes of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Josh Brolin's Thanos in The MCU, but because She-Hulk is a small-screen project, some assumed a more practical approach would be employed for Miss Walters. Maslany went on to reveal that the show will draw inspiration from both Dan Slott's (2004 - 2007) and Charles Soule's (2014-2015) She-Hulk comic runs.
She-Hulk will also star Jameela Jamil as Titania, Renée Elise Goldsberry as a character named Amelia, Tim Roth as Abomination and Ginger Gonzaga as Walters’ best friend (most likely Jill Stevens). Dead To Me director Kat Coiro wil helm the pilot and several other episodes, while Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao leads the writers' room.
No premiere date has been set, but the show is expected to hit Disney+ sometime next year.
