New Clarice Super Bowl TV Spot
During last night's Super Bowl, we got a new spot for CBS' upcoming
The Silence of the Lambs sequel series,
Clarice, which stars Aussie actress Rebecca Breeds (
The Originals, Pretty Little Liars) in the lead role of Clarice Starling; the intuitive detective previously played by both Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore on the big screen.
This teaser leans heavily into The Silence of The Lambs mythology, as Clarice recounts the story of the lamb she tried to save that she shared with Hannibal Lecter in the film.
It's been confirmed that Lecter will not appear (in fact, the character can't even be mentioned by name due to the complex rights issues between MGM, Dino De Laurentiis, and CBS), but it does look like we may see flashback's to the Buffalo Bill case that helped build Starling's reputation.
Tom Clancy's Without Remorse Gets A Release Date & A New Poster
Amazon has finally announced the release date for Tom Clancy's
Without Remorse, which stars
Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan in the lead.
The action thriller is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, April 30. We also have a new poster featuring Jordan, who plays John Kelly (based on the John Clark character from Clancy's novel), taking cover from some heavy gunfire.
Without Remorse is directed by Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, ZeroZeroZero), from Paramount Pictures, Skydance, and New Republic Pictures. The movie also stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Guy Pearce, Lauren London, and Cam Gigandet.
Universal's Wicked Movie Taps Jon M. Chu to Direct
Jon M. Chu recently announced that he'd parted ways with the Disney+ Willow series, and it looks like we now know why.
EW reports that the Crazy Rich Asians director has signed on to helm the upcoming Wicked feature adaptation for Universal. The mega-popular Broadway musical follows the real story of Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, and Elphaba, the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West.
Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz, who adapted Gregory Maguire's Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West for the stage, are also working on the screenplay for the film.
Bob Odenkirk Channels John Wick In New Nobody Big Game Spot
Another Super Bowl spot here, this time for awesome-looking action comedy Nobody, which stars Emmy Award-winner Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) as a seemingly ordinary Joe Soap whose buried past resurface when he's forced to protect his family from a pair of burglars.
As you'll see from the new teaser below, this opens up a particularly violent can of worms when he's targeted by a group of mercenaries intent on delivering payback for something Hutch did in his former life.
Based on a script by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad, Nobody is produced by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde) and also stars the legendary Christopher Lloyd as Hutch's father, and RZA as his brother.
Has WandaVision Already Introduced The MCU's First Mutants?
This past Friday's episode of WandaVision left fans with a lot to discuss, but one Easter Egg seems to have gone mostly unnoticed, and it might just hint at the introduction of mutants to the MCU.
Near the start of the ep, Vision mentions that he read Charles Darwin's The Descent of Man to twins Billy and Tommy as a bedtime story. The line is played for laughs, but CBR believes there could be more to it.
The Descent of Man marked Darwin's first exploration of human evolutionary theory, and since mutants are supposed to represent a jump forward in man's evolution, could this be hinting that the twins will be established as the MCU's first mutant characters?
It's a bit of a stretch, but an intriguing theory nonetheless!
Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Promises The Trailer Will Be Worth The Wait
Fans were hoping we might get a first look at Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings during last night's Super Bowl, and while that obviously never came, star Simu Liu has built excitement by promising that the trailer will be worth the wait.
An actor promoting one of their upcoming movies like this is not exactly major news, of course, but it could indicate that the first teaser is closer than we think.
Shang-Chi also stars Awkwafina and Tony Leung, and is (currently) set to hit theaters this July.
Jennifer Lawrence Injured On The Set Of Don't Look Up
Finally, reports are coming in that
X-Men star Jennifer Lawrence suffered a minor injury while filming the climactic scene for upcoming Netflix film,
Don't Look Up.
Lawrence is believed to have been shooting a sequence in a Boston cafe with co-star Timothée Chalamet when a stunt explosion went wrong, sending a shared of glass into her eye.
The actress is said to be fine, but things could have gone a lot worse. You can check out some new set photos below.
