Netflix has debuted the first footage from the fourth season of its Emmy-nominated Karate Kid spinoff, Cobra Kai, which is set to hit the streaming service this December.
In the season 3 finale, Kreese (Martin Kove) turned to a mysterious individual for help after Johnny (William Zabka) and Danny (Ralph Machio) put their differences aside and joined forces. There was a lot of speculation that the person on the other end of the line was Karate Kid III villain Terry Silver, and sure enough, Thomas Ian Griffith (ponytail and all) is set to reprise the role for season 4.
Silver was an old war buddy of Kreese's, and the original financier of the Cobra Kai dojo. The character appeared in flashbacks during season 3, thanking Kreese for saving his life and promising to be "there for him" for the rest of his life.
Silver doesn't show up in this promo, but we do get some intriguing glimpses of the principal characters training for the All Valley Karate Tournament, which will see the newly formed Eagle Fang dojo join forces with Miyagi-Do to take on the now Kreese-controlled Cobra Kai.
"We have never been prouder of a season that we've put in the can," director Josh Heald said in a recent interview. "We've seen it and we know we've got the goods. We cannot wait for the fans of this franchise to see everything we did this season knowing everything we went through to put that into place. It's an amazing memory we'll all have knowing that it was a battle and we won."
