Earlier tonight, we got a first look at some footage from the upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop Netflix series via an official trailer, and the streamer has now debuted a batch of new promo stills to accompany it.

These images spotlight most of the show's main characters, including Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda), as well as the crew's super-intelligent "data Dog" Ein, and the principal antagonist of the story, Vicious (Alex Hassell).

The ruthless grey-haired assassin was once a colleague of Spike's in the Red Dragon crime syndicate, and both men were involved in a love triangle of sorts with a woman named Julia, which proves to be a pretty big plot point moving forward.

Check out the new stills below along with the trailer, and let us know if you plan on tuning in for Cowboy Bebop on November 19.

"Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka cowboys, all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them."

We recently learned that anime composer Yoka Kano, who has worked on the likes of Vision of Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Turn A Gundam, Macross Plus, and more, created the soundtrack.

Cowboy Bebop is exec produced and written by Christopher Yost (Thor), who also serves as showrunner along with Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio; Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios; Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc. Watanabe is on board as a consultant.

I've seen a lot of red flags about this project, but it also feels very earnest in its affection for the original. That very obvious love wins some good will.

@Spock0Clock - red flags. So far it looks pretty fun to me. That said, I haven't watched nor do I have any affinity for the original

Heard the creator is not happy with it. Seriously if you are adapting somethin really loved and the creator doesnt like it, then you have a problem

@dracula - Netflix hopefully doesn't deviate much. This isn't a Castlevania situation where you can cherry pick. That said, I've read similar things about the creator's feelings for essentially that reason so I'm also curious how it all plays out on screen. Spike is growing on me from the shorts, but I need to see more from Cho once it starts before I'm sold. That and I get to see one of my favorite guys from the show.

I've been saying it since the picture of them walking Ein, it is very weird seeing any of them treating the dog well, specially Faye. If I had to guess, they changed it because we are in a very pro-dog/cat world right now, all game developers are adding petting in games, there's a dedicated "can you pet the dog" Twitter page for games, dog children are a serious thing, people just love and respect their pets a lot more nowadays. New watchers would despise Faye if she treated Ein with the hate she does in the anime. That said, Ein is a precious boy and he deserves all the love and care in the world. Just look at that lovable face!

Vicious looks HOT in that shirtless pic; I'd let that Creeper into my Crypt.

Just started watching the anime again. Still amazing. The Netflix show looks like a series of somewhat charming fan films. Cho is just miscast as Spike, which kind of brings the whole thing down. Seeing Faye and Ein being buddies is weird.
