New VENOM Trailer Brings Violence, Mayhem, And Plenty Of Action In Blistering 3-Minute Preview

As promised, the new trailer for Venom has been unleashed and there's plenty of symbiote action here as Eddie Brock unleashes the full force of his powers and chows down on some brains. Take a look...

Well, I think it's fair to say that this is going to leave you all talking. The new trailer for Venom (which premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con last weekend) has been released by Sony Pictures today and, well, it's certainly something! There's plenty of shots of the symbiote in action which should make fans of the source material happy but the overall tone and story seem to leave an awful lot to be desired.

The preview runs for a whopping three minutes and while the extended scene at the end featuring Eddie Brock threatening to eat some poor guy's brains is probably something of a money shot in the studio's eyes, it's actually pretty cringe-worthy and will leave you aghast at how bad the special effects are. Needless to say, you can definitely tell Venom was produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach!

We'll let you share your thoughts on the trailer below and there are definitely some cool moments in here to check out (Venom vs, Riot looks like fun). Check back later for our breakdown of the footage!

Honestly doesn’t look too bad. I like that they are going for the dynamic between Eddie and venom. Seems to play a big factor here and that’s what I wanted.

And still nothing to disprove that this will be pg 13. Oh fans are going to be piiiiissed!!

@Mrcool210 - Agree, that was the biggest reveal I was waiting for. I hope it's r-rated but knowing Avi Arad is 1 of the producers, he most likely will aim for pg-13 to sell toys.

During homecoming, Kevin Feige forced Sony to demote Avi Arad to an executive producer because he was trying to hard to over-stuff the film again with a bunch of characters like he did with TASM so he can sell more merchandise.

@mastakilla39 - doesn't disney make the toy money and not sony?

@JonC - I think when Marvel was signing off their stuff in the 90’s, Avi somehow gets a chunk of the toy sales. No idea how he managed that, but that is why he .is always wanting toy-friendly stuff in the Spidey movies.

@TomSolo - pretty sure he managed that cuz at one point he was part owner of the whole company before Disney and Ike came into play.

Man, I really hope the CGI in this is a long way from finished. This looks pretty bad.

Hardy's dialogues sound weird, I don't know what they're going for. Riot's design looks cool though.

Man, Hardy is a great actor, but he always talks funny and frankly i don't like it...

Also, good thing they still have some time to polish all the VFX am i right???

@Doomsday8888 - He's masking his British accent with his Queens blue collar guy accent -- I'm assuming this is taking place in New York City like in the comics.

Have you seen "The Drop"? If you have not seen it, fantastic film, and Hardy was stellar in a lead role aside James Gandolfini. Hardy's voice in Venom is identical to his voice in The Drop.
