VENOM International Trailer Features More Symbiote Action; Less Turds In The Wind

A French version of today's final Venom trailer is now online, and it features a couple of new shots of the ferocious antihero attacking some cops. We also lose that godawful scene right at the end...

An international version of the Venom trailer that debuted earlier today is now online, and it actually flows a lot better than the original one. For a start, it drops the extended sequence right at the end which sees Brock (Tom Hardy) and his "parasite" threaten to eat various parts of an unfortunate criminal until he rolls down the road like a "turd in the wind."

Plus, there are a couple of alternate shots of Venom attacking some some cops, as well as a new glimpse of the symbiote enveloping Eddie.

The trailer appears to have divided viewers for the most part and has come in for quite a bit of backlash on social media. That said, some hardcore fans of the character seem very happy with how he's being depicted here.

between Venom's voice and Eddie Brock's voice, I'm going to need some subtitles to this movie.

@csims1885 - I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had a hard time understanding. Brock was fine for me, but Venom was really difficult to understand at times.

I would thoroughly love to be surprised by this movie... But all I see when I watch these trailers is Superman without the S on his chest, Batman without the bat logo on his chest. I'm all for a Venom solo film, but they literally stripped the emblem from his chest and the origin of his story. To me, that's not Venom. to me, that's just the same as the 1998 Godzilla.

"Like a turd... In the wind"

OK, who's 14 year old got into the writing room?

Eddie Brock does not sound and seem like soemone who has the MENTAL FACULTIES TO BE AN INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER.

"I always seem to find ma self..."

Frankly, he sounds like an idiot. Idk what Hardy is doing with the character. Makes him seem incompetent.

He is a highly talented journalist in the comics.

@BlackBeltJones - My only response to you is "Bob Woodward".

Heaven knows I'm not one to defend this movie, but accent and vocal affect don't really give you a good insight into someone's capabilities as a journalist. (Though, I do think Woodward is probably over-idolized, there's no debating his ability to be a prominent and successful journalist, even though he has evident difficulty speaking at times.)

@Spock0Clock - maybe it was for lack pf better terminolgy or description on my part. The vibe Eddie gives off is one of ineptitude.

Hey, Woodward is a big speaker nowadays. I always found when watching ans listening to him speak, he had a sort of eloquent matter of fact way of talking. He seems shy but never awkward or dim.

@BlackBeltJones - (Grain of salt), but I'm sure I've read that he actually has a speech disorder and that the deliberate way he talks is the result of a conscious ordering of his thoughts and words. But the point being: speech isn't journalism. Particularly for an investigative reporter for a written medium, there are a hell of a lot of skills more important than "do you speak good".

@MrDandy - I believe there the scene of him running on some scaffolding was new, as was a shot with a police officer and him on the bike.

A much better version of the trailer, certainly flows better and with less cringey moments. Still, this film looks
