“Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009,” stated the official announcement. “This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.”

I'm cool with the studio taking a lil extra time to develop this game and work out all the bugs. As long as the delay of a month does not turn into a additional delay of two more months. Then were looking at Christmas 09 for this game to finally be available. This game is gonna be kick ass and quite possibly the best Video Game we have ever seen the Caped Crusader in to date.

I don't know iv'e been looking into this game since I first heard about it, and there just seems like somethings wrong with it. I'm sure i'm going to get hated on, but it just seems like this game is hiding something. Theres just something I don't like about this game, I really hope i'm wrong and this game kicks ass, but I guess only time can tell.

The only thing that makes me wary of this game is the fact that it seems like some sort of hybrid of the comic and the movie mythos. Not really sure how that's gonna play out. As far as the gameplay goes, from what I have seen from the videos released, it looks pretty solid.

Remember a few years ago, the Batman game that relied on intimidating your enemies? Good idea, bad gameplay. This looks like it's going to totally trump the other games. Let's face it, most of the Batman games have had quite a smell of poo on them from the get-go.

It should be sort of like Metal Gear Solid game play, sneaking around, and you knock out the bad guys or put them to sleep. Its the only way I could see this game going, because he cant kill people right? I mean they are sticking to that part of the batman myth right?

Seems so. Yeah, that seems like a fair comparison. Add in the over-the-top enemies and comic storyline and gameplay, should be a solid game. Can't be much worse than the Superman games they've put out.

Maybe a little bastard child between Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider. That puts a weird image in your head, eh?

Damn the one game I was actually looking forward to buying this year... meh I can wait.

I'm really excited about playing this game, but I think I might know what you guys are talking about. From what I understand, the whole game is suppossed to take place in Arkham Asylum. Cool idea, but its a very limited local. If they pull a BioShock and make each section unique than it could be great, but I just don't see a great variety of environments in one big asylum. That kind of monotony can kill a game. Just look at Assassins Creed. Great game, and missions 1 through 3 were great since you got to explore a new city each time. Missions 4-6... pretty much retreads of missions 1-3 and it got boring toward the end, know what I mean?

Apparently this game is supposed to be based entirely on the comics for the first time ever. Every other game has been based on the movies or the cartoons. It's probably why they sucked.

Well...if it's like it seems and reminiscent of Batman games, it's going to be a lot of button mashing thugs working your way to a boss battle. Yeah that can get stale real fast.

I kinda hate the way batman looks, i'm sick of these huge forearms and odd gears of war body shaped characters, is this game running on the unreal engine?

yeah from the very beginning the ads have been kind of the same.. you know, releasing the trailers for the bosses and the deluxe edition items and so, but the ACTUAL gameplay WAS JUST RELEASED last week.. that means they were making tests of the gameplay and they found something.. ok, as long as they fix it.

maybe they made a marketing survey and found out not many people will buy the deluxe $$$$$ edition. mmmh

This game is going to rock. Im sure if it were wolverine or deadpool doing the same thing we wouldnt hear anyone bitch and whine about "ghost" problems with the game. They found something that was quirky and just went back to fix it instead of having you download it later on. Simple

When I first seen this game I was thinking the game play was going to be a mix of Condemned's fighting and crime solving and Butcher Bay's fighting and stealth, I could have sworn the game play was first person, but now it seems its third person.

Wolverine was rushed, and because of that the game was FULL of glitches horrible cut together cut scenes piss poor game play. So I hope they take all the time they want for this game.

I've been looking forward to this game for some time now, I'm glad they have kevin conroy and mark hamill reprising their roles as batman and joker. This game looks intense and I can't wait.

To be honest I'm happy the pushed it back. I played the demo at gamestop, they have it on their ps3, and the combat needs to be tweaked just a lil bit more. The demo is all about the combat aspect of the game, you pick either medium level or a hard level and fight a few waves of enemies. The graphics are really good but the combat is way to simple and kinda button mashy. All you do is continue to hit square until another enemy comes up behind, then once said enemy has like a spider sense type icon over their head you hit triangle to counter it; then pretty much just keep doing that over and over until all the enemies are defeated. It just seems a little too simple and easy, even on the hard level.

Well that sucks I was really thinking that would be the best part of the game. At least if they had made it like Condemned and Butcher Bay's fighting and stealth crime solving action, it would had brought a good style to the game, but if its just going to be a button masher I think ill stay away.

Amazon has the date listed as September 1st... Personally, I try not to get my hopes up with the dates. I'd rather have a game that's ready to play, rather than one that has patches the first day it's released, or worse, one that has no patches and is buggy as h3ll.

Prototype (you can see videos and screenshots here) looks great, and it's a perfect example of a game that's had it's date pushed (I think it was originally supposed to come out last year) so that they can get it just the way they want it.

I'm all for it if it makes the game better.

A pushed back release date always spells trouble! It often means they went for something, found out they can't do it and have to re-work everything to fit. The result is usually a complete hash.

I hope I'm wrong as this is THE game I'm holding out for this year!

I hate this shit about video games. And this ALWAYS happens to good titles, they build up an anticipation, then build it by pushing back the release date. The good news is, this is a sign of a developer who really wants to make sure they nail it. When I first saw this game, I thought, "Bioshock meets Escape from Butcher Bay, Batman style" And any of you who know anything about gaming know that BioShock is one of the best games ever made. Bottom line, this game will be spectacular and I can't wait.

Like the majority of comic book movie games, the graphics look amazing, but the gameplay looks urmm... well it would be improved.
