If they would let him f*ck shit up, it would work. It would be a game like Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. That's what a Superman game needs to be like. Someone like him needs to bash stuff, destroy stuff.

If he is indestructible. .........do we really need a Justice League then? Seventy years of him fighting bad guys..... Its about getting the threat right and how they can create a universe like the Arkaham games.

I just know that most people want Rocksteady but they don't have any experience with super powers. I thought of Sucker Punch but they don't have a lot of experience with flying and all that. There just so much stuff that you have to do to make an awesome Superman game since he has so many awesome powers and his universe is so big. On to the video, a Superman game should be about protecting people. You fail in protecting people instead of dying. The gameplay should be based around puzzles with some villains that could beat his ass. I'm writing an article about this subjet and I have a lot of ideas to how to do it. The problem with the game is that there are a lot of stuff to do not that it would be boring. Most of these people you interviewed are so untalented if they have such a hard time figuring out how to do it.

I think if you used the Mass effect game play style and made it a very story driven game and made the action not vs earthly threats as much as enemies more on his power level could work.

Indeed, his powers are the tricky part here. The only way I could see a Superman game work would be if it's set in a massive Earth sandbox with a combat style ala Dragon Ball's Tenkaichi Budokai series, but that would be just the basic concept. An absorbing storyline is also really important.

@Brainiac3000 As MoS proved, Superman can't be everywhere at the same time. People could have been saved from the World Engine if he had help in Metropolis. Or help defeating the machine quicker in the Indian Ocean.

Personally, I think we need a Superman game where it is a mix of RPG and Action. I would sections of the game as Clark Kent perhaps interviewing Lex or snooping around offices trying to get clues to a bigger plot.

I am all for levels where, or boss battle, where one or more abilities are taken away.

However, most of the game I would want free roam and to be Superman. Add things like if fly high enough you'll be in space etc.

As MoS showed Superman is not indestructible, he can be hurt and killed if the threat level is equal to or greater than him. Superman has plenty of rouges capable of being in a game.

They can approach the beggining of the game with the first set of powers of Superman and adding one at the time. For example, you couldnt fly at first, only big jumps.

It could be awesome to have the Morrison run suit first. The one with jeans, a t-shirt and a small cape jumping around buildings, getting pursued by the police... you can only dream.

Exactly

You would have to make a Superman game with the premise being centered around Clark Kent. The game should have you investigating reports of strange occurrences (using powers) as reporter Clark Kent without being caught by the public. You could change back and forth to Superman and clark Kent. This could work like the arkham series as each game could be set in different locations.

.....you can have Lois and Jimmy act as eyes and ears for developments in your "write ups" throughout the game (like Alfred and Barbara Gordon did in Arkham City). The key isn't to look at what he can do but to look at what he cannot do and base your story around it. The fact that he can't be everywhere at once. The fact that he can't let everyone know who he is. The fact that his powers and strength make it hard for him to be subtle.

Silver Surfer disagrees.

^Silver Surfer vs Superman power wise is debatable.

Moving on to those who doubt a good Superman game, I've got five words for you: Lego Batman 2: Heroes United.

Yes Batman is in it and his name is in the title BUT it's just as much as Superman's game as it is Batman's for it's more of a world's finest game.

In it they got pretty much EVERYTHING right when it comes to how Superman plays in a video game. The flight controls for the most part are tight with the only problem being that if you get too close to a building or wall, it'll turn you around point you into the wrong direction. Not Superman's fault just how the game mechanics work. I will say I am quite disappointed in this aspect when Lego Marvel Superheroes came out. Not to bash the game or call it bad or anything and it certainly doesn't ruin my view of the game (It's awesome!) but I'm sadden that the flight controls in it went down a peg compared to Lego Batman 2's as nearly EVERYONE in Lego Marvel who flies will fight you back with the sole exception of Silver Surfer surprisingly.

But yeah, that aside they managed to do a Superman game right with that sole exception I mentioned which isn't Superman's fault. That and Superman has super building speed but can't run fast like he usually can.

@batman1216 I beg to differ...
Aside from that, in comics superman has always dealt with matters that were of a challenge to him, look at All-Star Superman or the Superman vs. The Elites... my opinion is that they should treat superman like Cole from Infamous, even tho he has the power at his disposal, its how u use the power... also to to spice it a bit, use characters on a more cosmic scale to balance it out along with the mastermind of Lex Luthor... characters like Bizarro, Brainiac and Metalo... even Lobo. But the main part is gettin the character in essence down b4 anything

I think they really need to do some research, and really tap into their imagination when comes to challenging Superman.

However, the easiest thing to do is to exploit as many weaknesses as you can.

Kyrptonite (Lex Luthor, Metallo, K-man, Conduit etc.)
The solar rays of a red sun (Ruin, Luminus, Amalak)
Magic (Atlas, Satanus, Mxyzptlk, Vyndktvx)
Powerful, overwhelming psychic attacks (Manchester Black gave him a stroke or seizure,Dominus)
Advanced Alien technology (Apocalyptian weapons,Intergang, Brainiac technology)
Energy absorption (Parasite)
And the obvious, being of equal or greater power;
Darkseid, Zod and other Phantom zoners, He'l, Mongul, Eradicator, Bizzaro, Doomsday.

It's all in how you utilize the source material.
