Deadline have revealed that the scribe behind Pulp Fiction and Silent Hill, (considered by most to be the best video game film to date), Roger Avary will Direct and write a film-adaptation of Castle Wolfenstein, a popular shooting game released in 1981 on the Apple II, DOS, Atari 400/800 and Commodore 64. The site that broke the news say that the World War II-actioner will be in the same vein as Captain America: The First Avenger and Inglorious Bastards. The game follows a U.S. Army Captain and a British Special Agent, who are on a mission to Castle Wolfenstein to stop Hitler, who is about to reveal a new secret weapon that could turn the course of the second World War upside down. "I’ve been playing the Wolfenstein games since I was a kid, and feel that their outlandish sensibility has deeply influenced my own writing and directing throughout my career" said Avary when asked about the project. "I have always thought Wolfenstein, transformed and opened for the screen to wider audiences not familiar with the games, would be a major cinematic experience, which is why I introduced it to Samuel". Panorama Media and Davis Films Productions will produce the film.
