Spider-Man Web of Shadows received mediocre reviews back in 2008, I for one really enjoyed it. The studio behind WOS, Shaba Games, unfortunately closed their doors in 2009 leading to the cancellation of their next Spider-Man game, "Spider-Man Classic". The game was set to have Spidey fans traveling through some of Spider-Man's most exciting, classic villian fights from the comics, the artist notes that it would have been "told in panel-by-panel faithfulness to the original comic" Spider-Man Classic would have featured villans such as Mysterio and Carnage, as well as allowing the player to play as Spider-Man AND Wolverine.

Are you glad that this project never saw the light of day? Or are you happy that we got Shattered Dimensions instead? Sound off in the comment section below!

Never played WoS, heard it was lack luster. But the last fight/level, I watched gameplay of it and it looked hella sick. That and the ability to change costumes at anytime was very cool.

I enjoyed SD until I realized how plain and repetitive the gameplay was. But it was great to play as 4 Spider-Mans and had great designs. Cant say Web Of Shadows left any kind of impression so probably for the best, but it could have been a more solid game as a whole. Guess we'll never know...

Web of Shadows was awesome. A shame they didn't go through with the sequel

Damn, we could've had an epic Carnage boss-fight, he is one of my favorite Spidey villain. The Mysterio's look is really cool, I wish they would have done this game.

Mysterio looks awesome

The Vulture fight was epic. The fact that you had to use his minions as catapults to web swing your way close enough to actually attack the Vulture was exciting and unique.

The only thing I didn't really like was Spider-Man's voice actor.

It was an alright game, great for web-swinging in the city. Had a terrible voice actor for Spider-Man though.

We got Shattered Dimensions over this? What a load of shit. Totally big mistake, ugh. Web Of Shadows was one of the best Spidey games. I don't understand how the reviews were mixed. Too bad.. I dunno about this [sequel] so to speak, but it at least deserved that.

The game created a fighting engine and movement system totally unique and respective of Spidey. Everything else stole that concept afterwards. People must have no brains to like SD over WoS. Then again, sheeple do that.

that would have been great spidey costume for the new movie.

That version of Mysterio looks intense..very,very cool design for him.

He should be in a movie looking like that, use CG effects for images that appear in his dome head.

Shattered Dimensions was great voice acting, character, and story, but Web of Shadows was more fun gameplay wise. Though if they just combined both the games properly, took some of the combat mechanics from shattered dimensions and the web jump and open world of Web of Shadows, it'd be perfect.

I hope the next spidey game gives everything the fans want.....a bigger city, unlimited crimes, a tad bit more fluid combat, and alot of alternate costumes, even the new Superior Spider-Man suit....
