While mostly getting solid reviews at first, sadly the time has come for Spider-man to face some pretty bad reviews.

IGN
4.5
Ultimately, Edge of Time feels like Shattered Dimensions DLC that has been misguidedly bloated into a full retail game. It’s definitely not spectacular, and certainly not amazing. Edge of Time is more a case of the Remarkably Disappointing Spider-Man.

Gamers XTREME
8.5 out of 10
Spider-Man: Edge of Time is another great addition to the catalog of Spider-Man games. While the gameplay mechanics have been simplified a bit from Shattered Dimensions, everything else is the real driving factor here. With an excellent story (crafted by Spider-Man 2099 co-creator, Peter David), top-notch voice acting, powerful cinematic soundtrack and solid visuals, Spider-Man: Edge of Time is one game that web heads won’t want to miss.

GAME RANT
2.5 out of 5
It’s hard to pinpoint just what went wrong with Spider-Man: Edge of Time. There was a clear decision to make the story more cohesive – take out the disjointed select-a-character-and-go formula – but everything else simply lost its magic. Awfully repetitive objectives, lackluster and minimal boss fights, and, frankly, a lack of effort kept Edge of Time from being anything but another criminally shallow superhero title.

Planet Xbox
8.3
The story is tight and fast-paced; the presentation really shows Beenox’s improvements over the past few months; and the gameplay is engaging, even if there’s not much actual web-slinging to do this time around. It’s nice to see the Spider-Man games back on the rise to quality efforts again, let’s hope the trend continues to go on the…ahem…upswing?

Game Informer
6.50
All of this culminates in an experience that doesn't necessarily feel like it was tailored for Spider-Man. I applaud Beenox for trying something different with this iconic character, yet ultimately find myself thinking about how many locked doors I opened rather than the story, combat, or character-based moments. For me, the game just seemed to get worse as it went on and more frustrating as the same types of mission objectives were recycled. Shattered Dimensions was good fun (a game I would have given an 8 to if I had the chance to review it). Edge of Time is a major step back from the formula that worked.

What do you think? Do you think it's better or worse than it's predecessor Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions? Tell us your opinion in the comments below.

I aCtually just beat it last night. Story was pretty awesome( I was always a spider 2099 fan) but gameplay and combat were lacking

Ok, I was DEFINITELY not expecting that low a score from IGN. If they liked Shattered Dimensions, then they should definitely have loved this.

Will be another rent for me. I don't have the extra cash for every game that comes out.
