New Line's
Mortal Kombat reboot has added three more fighters to its ranks.
Joining previously announced cast members
Joe Taslim (Sub Zero), Mehcad Brooks (Jax) and
Ludi Lin (Liu Lang) will be Jessica McNamee (
The Meg) as Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson (
House of Lies) as her long-time nemesis, Kano.
THR also reports that Lewis Tan
(Iron Fist, Deadpool 2) is in final negotiations for an undisclosed role. Could he be Scorpion, perhaps?
Plot details on the new movie remain a mystery for now, but it's assumed that it'll follow the basic premise of the original video game: a group of warriors assemble to compete in a tournament to protect the Earth from the demonic forces of Outworld.
Mortal Kombat is set to commence production in South Australia later this year, and will slice its way into theaters on March 5, 2021.
