In the shadow of this week's monstrous
Beauty and The Beast release, the last Hugh Jackman's outing as Logan makes small steps forward. After dropping 54% from last weekend,
LOGAN still managed to earn $17,5M in the North America, hiking up its total to a very impressive $184M in its third week. In comparison,
X-Men Origins: Wolverine ended up with $179M and the first James Mangold's approach to the series with even less, as it's finished with only $132M domestically.
The film's doing even better worldwide, as it's passed the half billion mark, sitting on estimated $524M. Obviously, it's more than any of the previous solo Wolverine movies, but also more than the final hauls of
Ant-Man ($519M) and
X-Men: The Last Stand ($459M).
LOGAN won't make
Deadpool numbers, but it's doing great, considering its R-rating and the relatively small budget of $97M
LOGAN is projected to finish its theatrical run somewhere between $650-700M.
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
