Meaning luring them to their facebook page to watch exclusive clips of the X-Men film. It's pretty blatant pro-war propaganda that completely leaves out the realities, the dangers, of fighting in conflict. David Sirota, radio host and author of "Back to Our Future" explains.

the military recruits in pulic schools. by the time someone is old enough to actually join the armed forces, they know what they're in for. in a lot of countries it is mandatory for every citizen two serve at least two years.

amen to logunvadercap. military service isn't for everyone, but you can all feel free to thank a veteran next time you see them.

As a veteran, I think it is disgusting that that our military is advertising themselves this way to children and glorifying what they do.

I have other issues with the politics/corporations behind what actually goes on and for the actual reasons "we" do what we do, but I won't get into that.

Either way, the U.S. does not have a draft and there is not required enlistment. Just because it may have a "better" system in one certain aspect as far as military service goes, doesn't mean it is the RIGHT system.

It is definitely not Anti-American to question the motives of the Government. And it is very debatable whether or not those hijackers even existed in the first place because the "evidence" that says there were has more holes in it and raises even more unanswered questions than would be there if they just said "Take our word for it"....

We'll agree to disagree on certain topics. But yes, people died and we should be saddened and mad but we need to make sure we are directing it at the correct people.

If it's blamed on Al Qaeda let us go after them for that reason, but dragging other countries that aren't involved in it under the same reason, spreading out our resources, wasting money, and putting more troops in danger is not a good plan.

Just because we disagree doesn't make either of us "weak minded" or ignorant... Just that we have different viewpoints and opinions.

I'm pretty sure first person shooter and strategy games like Call of Duty or Command and Conquer bring more young kids into the military then an X-Men movie tie in ad campaign. But what do I know? I only took young Soldiers to Iraq 4 times. It’s funny to me when I watch a young ADULT show up expecting to just wear the uniform and be awesome at Soldiering because they played military themed video games and then they realize how physically and mentally fit you have to be. It takes a lot of discipline and drive to consistently perform at the top warrior athlete level…and the weak ones just weeded out eventually. Any of you pissing and moaning this and that about government and the military should get in the game. Run for office or join up, if you can. Sideline fans always like to talk about what they would do or give an opinion on things going on but they’re not in the game, they are just spectators who don’t have what it takes.

@ NerdRage.... My good friend is a Snowboard Instructor and a parent who had a kid in one of his first time lessons literally told him " He'll be great at Snowboarding; He play tons of Tony Hawk Pro Skater"..... hahaha

Get involved. Vote for those who would change our foreign policy. Vote to de-fund the military so they are forced to focus on defense instead of invasion.

@ Nephillim we have Doctors and Medics and Nurses all over the military, what are you waiting for? Oh thats right, a backbone...coward.

@ LordHuck Good luck with that, I’m sure stellar logic like that will do wonders for social order. I think we should vote to modify who gets to be citizens and only those who serve time in either civil services such as police, or fire or the military get to vote and run for office. Then whiney crybabies such as yourself, who only care about money and self interest, and not people, will either change or fall out of relevancy.

@NerdRage in regards to questioning the government and "having what it takes". If you were ordered to occupy your home soil and hold your own people at gunpoint, would you? Would you pull the trigger if you were told? Or would you question the motive behind your orders?

fact: In 1942 110,000 Japanese americans were escorted by gunpoint to prison camps built on AMERICAN soil. These people were AMERICAN BORN, they went to public schools, they pledged allegiance to the american flag every morning. Then pearl harbor happened now all japanese americans were considered terrorists and imprisoned for years. WAR = INDUSTRY, people make money from the exploitation of the under privileged. Killing never justifies freedom, ever. The real truth is $$ = freedom in corporate fascist societies. If you are poor, you are underprivileged/enslaved. That is not freedom.

Is this the right system? Does this really benefit humanity? Ignorance is the choice to refuse knowledge....fok this is all retarded guys. Just because the news says so, doesn't make it real. Just because your teachers say so, it doesn't make it real. Just because there are movies of super people in crazy costumes and amazing powers... doesn't make it real... but it's all very entertaining stories. Think outside the box, question everything, find your own truths.

Go read some captain america or black panther. Those cats are legit and speak the truth through our current form of myth and legend.

@ hbombr To answer your question, if I was given an order that violated my morality or undermined my worldview or value system, I would not blindly follow it. Once common vernacular term used is “choosing to fall on your sword” which basically means if I felt something was wrong, I wouldn’t do it. No I wouldn’t round up Arabs or Muslims if they were American citizens and put them into camps. However, let’s say I was sent into an area to restore social order because a bunch of lazy, rebellious, lawless, drug addicted punks were destroying private or public property. If after they were told to leave they started to riot, I would have no problem using an escalation of force. If my “countrymen” persisted in illegal, threatening or destructive behavior and I had to negate the threat, I would.
Fact: throughout our nation's history there are situations where deadly force was unwarranted or unjustified and the U.S. Military was used for nefarious purposes. There are always people with power and influence throughout the world that seek to institute fascism, or attack minorities or weaker members of the society. This is something that has happened throughout the world’s history, not just our country’s history. Don’t feign intellectual enlightenment and condescend do me with a false sense of righteousness with nothing more than a rebellious mantra. I never think in boxes, I put my enemies in them and your attempt to insult me is lackluster at best. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Get an education and learn how to write and spell first. Then learn how to logically postulate ideas. After you figure out how to make and validate claims then try to debate with someone and maybe, just maybe, you will have a point. Don’t just read, go out and explore the world. I love my country and we are spoiled, but it’s because people like you don't sacrifice anything and hide behind your selfishness pretending to be moral when you're really a coward. Some truths are relative and some are absolute. Brave men go to war while the cowards stay home. Go to a war torn country just as an aid worker and see what you say about the American military after you hide behind them when the real enemy comes.
