X - MEN3 WAYS TO FIX THE FRANCHISE AFTER 'X-MEN: APOCALYPSE' By Jeremius
'X-Men: Apocalypse' has received mixed to negative reviews and we can't help but wonder why; the film was good, but the issues of pacing and that it's just a collection of what we have seen before and some stupid glorified cameos, but besides that, it's a good change for the franchise, redeeming characters like Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler (the less we talk about Jubilee, the better).
The franchise is arguably in a tough spot, it's continuity is messier than an emo's bedroom and the fan backlash against Singer for his treatment of the source material. While changing things up a bit can be helpful some times, Singer just went to town with it, and changed what many believe (including myself) the most important aspect of the X-Men besides their power and stuff: Their suits.
The suits represent the character that's wearing them, they're outcasts, and the suits define them, and while they look cheesy, Deadpool and the MCU can prove Fox wrong. But where does the franchise go from here? What happens after 'Apocalypse'?
Well, i thought out some things that may happen but whatever, this could be just classified as fun speculation on my part.
#1 - Follow The Deadpool Timeline
Whether you want it or not, Deadpool is probably in X-Men continuity (but what's left of that?) and it's probably a movie set in that universe, but in the present rather than the past, or so i believe.
Why not just make it so, that the Collosus in Deadpool is just a newer version of the character, i mean, X-Men: Apocalypse fixed the timeline, somehow, so that version of Collosus could exist, somehow.
Look, Apocalypse is set in the 80's, right? Xavier is just starting his school, and the X-Men are still in the forming stages, and just learning things. And with time, the X-Men change, and new recruits come in, ways change, so why not have them just explain that the next X-Movie is set in the present, with new recruits, and explaining the suits. WE GOTTA GET THOSE SUITS, man.
While they need to cast someone else as Wolverine, or even better, use another versions of characters, most notably Wolverine, with him being skipped (Who else is gonna play him? Hugh is a legend) but just avoid using the normal Logan, and use the X-23 A.K.A Laura Kinney and Logan's clone, as teased in Apocalypse's after credits scene. Or Daken, just don't screw up the timeline again, and have another guy play Logan.
For the love of god, Fox.
#2 - Just Keep The New Cast, Find New Ways
The new actors in the X-Men franchise fit their respective characters, would be a damn shame not to use them properly, while they were a good part of the film, they feel kinda...how do i put this...well, there. Plus, i love Sophie Turner's work, but man, she gotta work on that accent.
According to a report, the next film is gonna be based on the Dark Phoenix saga.
I say 'why?' while many will get excited, believe me, i am so in for the story to be done right in the big screen, but there's a bit of a problem.
Will we feel anything for the characters, considering the events of Dark Phoenix. Granted, they might change some of the comic's story, but they have to remain atleast a bit faithful, huh, man?
While we got a good introduction to the new cast, and a big tease towards Dark Phoenix, the new cast still hasn't taken my heart, so for me to feel about these characters. Granted, the mall scene made them likable, but they're just likeable, but not that emotionaly connected.
But i am truly excited to see the take they do for Dark Phoenix, but don't screw it up, Fox, just don't.
#3 - Change Of Direction
Now, i love Singer's original movies. Call him what you want, but Singer nailed those two first films, but i get it the times he was away from the franchise, bad things happened, but i gotta say, doesn't anyone want someone good to handle the franchise? There are the obvious choices like Joss Whedon and Tim Miller, but let's think about that for a minute. Whedon's Marvel hours are over, and he's free, so maybe Fox should tap him for the X-Franchise after 'Apocalypse' or the next Singer film.
The reason for this is because he's a good writer, and knows the X-Men, plus he wrote a pretty awesome run back in the day in the series Astonishing X-Men.
It was a good story with characters that were good and easy to like. It's a good read, maybe pick it up. Whedon needs to be involved somehow, and it's important for the X-Men to be done right on the screen, suit-wise and tone-wise.
The big demand is for Tim Miller, director of Deadpool, to handle the franchise. What do i think of that? While the adaptation of Collosus was amazing, and he got the New Mutants style-suit right, he can't possibly handle the franchise, right? Not necessarily, he may or may not handle it, but he's an awesome VFX director and proved his love for the X-Men with Deadpool, so him being a candidate is not surprising.

While we don't have a clear view of where the franchise is going, we do have the teases of X-Men: Apocalypse to atleast make us speculate. What do you think? Will any of these, happen? Tell me, in the comments.
