Paramount Pictures has officially confirmed today that Mission: Impossible 7 and A Quiet Place Part II will both have significantly shortened theatrical windows this fall, heading to its upcoming Paramount+ streaming service just 45 days after their slated theatrical release dates.

After several pandemic-related delays, the John Krasinski-directed horror sequel, which stars Emily Blunt (Edge of TomorrowJungle Cruise) in the lead role, will open in theaters on September 17 while the Tom Cruise-fronted action blockbuster, which is currently filming, is on track to arrive on November 19.

More major titles, including fellow Cruise actioner Top Gun: Maverick, Henry Golding's Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, and the live-action/CGI family adventure Clifford the Big Red Dog, will make their way to the streaming service too, but not until next year after their respective theatrical runs and EPIX pay one debut.

In addition to Cruise, the highly anticipated Chris McQuarrie-directed action blockbuster also stars Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation), Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation), Hayley Atwell (Avengers: EndgameCaptain America: The First Avenger), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - FalloutFast & Furious PresentsHobbs & Shaw), Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Henry Czerny (Mission: ImpossibleSupergirl), Esai Morales (TitansLa Bamba), and Angela Bassett (SoulMission: Impossible - Fallout).

Mission: Impossible 7 lights the fuse in theaters on November 19, 2021; followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on November 4, 2022.

I feel like I am seeing a repeat of the early console wars where there were like a 1000 consoles all playing Pong with all these streaming sites.

I feel they all won’t survive.
