Back in May, Sylvester Stallone surprised fans when he announced that he would once again be be playing John Rambo, returning to the franchise he began with First Blood to star in a Rambo 5. The movie, which is currently slated for a Fall 2019 release and will potentially see Stallone direct, is rumored to feature Rambo facing off against the Mexican cartel.

Earlier today, Stallone shared an image on his Instagram page teasing Rambo 5. While he doesn't provide any new information about the upcoming film, Stallone does reveal he is currently preparing for the movie, showing off his intense workout regimen. As you can see, Stallone takes a shot at any celebrity that complains about waking up early to work out:

@EggFu - However, it does look like he might be skipping out on leg day... But then again, so do I.

Someone should ask Sly how he feels about James Gunn...pretty sure he’s a fan of he who must not be named.

Dude looks great for 90 though. He still has it.

@regularmovieguy - I might be wrong, but I thought that entire thing was so that he could get Jack Johnson the presidential pardon.

@RageDriver2401 - yeah, that was probably the case. He was standing in the oval office when Trump pardoned him, it was something Stallone had been fighting for for a while.

Remember, Stallone's best friend, Arnold, is the complete opposite of Trump. I imagine Stallone is more like Arnold.

Rambo 5 doesn’t even have a director lmao. Wonder if Sly is helming it.

@HeavyMetal4Life

I’d be up for that. The Expendables wasn’t great but the first is alright.

Could be good.

HeavyMetal4Life - 8/6/2018, 9:34 PM
@regularmovieguy - yeah, no confirmation about that but the rumor that said Rambo 5 was happening, a week before he announced he was doing it, also mentioned him writing and potentially directing the film.

I actually love, love Expendables 2 and 3. I'm a huge fan of 80s action films and those movies are exactly that. They aren't meant to be Oscar films, just nothing but high testosterone action films that make you remember the classic 80s action movies.

I wonder if his Instagram post is a slight dig at The Rock for always posting about how hard he works and how early he works out?
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 8/6/2018, 9:53 PM
@bcom - hmm, I would be surprised if it is. From what I have seen of the Rock's posts, he is one of the most passionate people for working out. Just yesterday he posted a video saying how much some new song he was listening to was pumping him up for working out. The Rock certainly works really hard, I have no doubts about that and I respect all the effort he puts into his workouts. The dude is a freaking machine.

I think Sly was targeting celebrities that have to get fit for roles and, in addition to complaining about a chicken diet, mention how early they have to start preparing for the role.
