So now the superhero comedy
Oobermind will be now titled
MegaMind. Seems yet another big change for the production as Will Ferrell replaced Robert Downey Jr in August when he dropped out of the project for certain reasons. Apparently the new title is a lot easier to say, and gets the point across a lot quicker. The original working title for the feature was called Master Mind by the way.
Here's an updated plot synopsis of the animated movie:
When super villain MegaMind (Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the world should be his oyster. But instead, MegaMind falls into total despair. It turns out that life without a rival is life without a point for him. So, he creates a new superhero rival, Titan (Jonah Hill). Unfortunately, the new hero wants to be a super villain, too. Caught in the middle, star reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey) asks the tough questions: Who can we turn to? Who has what it takes to stand up to this menace? Who will defend the innocent? MegaMind! That’s who.
The superhero DreamWorks project will be produced by Ben Stiller, written by Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons., and directed by Tom McGrath.
Megamind's release date is November 5th 2010.
