The social media embargo for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has just lifted, and aside from a few of the usual superhero movie nitpicks, this sounds like the biggest and best Ant-Man story to date...

The world premiere of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was held in Hollywood yesterday evening, and that means we now have the first reactions from critics on social media.

For the most part, they're extremely positive, praising the latest Ant-Man movie for being bigger and better than its predecessors. The main complaints seem to be that it's a very busy story and one that perhaps sacrifices some of what we love about the franchise in order to focus on this epic battle against Kang the Conqueror.

Talking of that time-travelling villain, Jonathan Majors is receiving the lion's share of praise for his take on the MCU's latest Kang Variant and sounds like an absolute scene-stealer.

As always, it will be interesting seeing how the reviews compare to these reactions, but if what we see below is any indication, we'd bet on this threequel landing somewhere around Ant-Man (83%) and Ant-Man and The Wasp (87%) on Rotten Tomatoes.

Check out the first Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania reaction below.

Find me an instance where first reactions weren't fantastic for a Marvel movie, don't worry I'll wait... this means nothing

@bobevanz - this has pretty mixed first reactions?

Alright but Ant-man & The Wasp also got this kind of praise when it came out. That movie was really boring... We'll see I guess.

early reactions seem quite soft, closer to strange/thor than shang-chi/bp2. based on how divisive some of these reactions are, sounds like 65-70 on rt. we'll see though, this first wave could always just be an outlier and the critical consensus is more positive.

Literally paid shills praising the film to ensure their access remains. Any sane person knows by now to look at actual customer reviews for any sort of accurate or at least impartial judgement.

@globaltravels - LMFAO, customer reviews are not remotely accurate or impartial. They are full of biased people trying to manipulate scores based on their agenda, so, SO many 0s and 10s...

@globaltravels - a lot of these are saying the movie isn't that good...

Going to start in the high 80's for critics and low 90's for fans, before it drops to mid 70's and mid 80's respectively.

BO, I'm guessing high 800mil. Lots of competition in the coming weeks, including Creed 3 and JW 4.

@DrReedRichards - for a second I though you meant Jurassic World 4 with JW4 and got really confused

@bkmeijer1 -

Lol,let's f#ckin' hope not. My little brother is maybe the biggest JP fan that I know of, and he couldn't finish Dominion. Like, it almost physically hurt him, you know?

@DrReedRichards - I didn't like it much either, but that's not the reason I don't want another one. There's only so much you gonna do with the concept.

Although I said the same thing about F&F and streetracing, and look where we are now with that franchise.

So it's a wild ride, Major as Kang is amazing, and it's still an Ant-Man movie. Nothing here tells me anything I didn't expect, so I guess that's nice.

I'd hope it's the best one, considering what a low bar the 2 before it set for the franchise.

@Th3Batman - I'm on the opposite side, I think the first two were amazing. They were simple, and I liked that a lot

These don't sound as overwhelmingly fantastic as I'd hoped. But you know what? I couldn't give a floating fart. I am hyped as a mother[frick]er!
