AQUAMAN & THE LOST KINGDOM Star Jason Momoa Shares New BTS Shot Of Arthur Curry Addressing The UN

Jason Momoa has shared a behind-the-scenes shot from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom featuring Arthur Curry and his allies addressing the United Nations, which he doesn't believe made the final cut...

It's been a while since we had any updates on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (the movie wrapped production back in January), but star Jason Momoa has now shared a very interesting behind-the-scenes shot from James Wan's DC Comics sequel.

In an Instagram post paying tribute to his late grandmother, the See actor included a distant shot of Arthur Curry addressing the United Nations. It's difficult to make out the figures beside him, but they appear to be two fellow Atlanteans, and a... big blue fella!

It's also worth noting that Aquaman's costume appears to be a much brighter shade of orange than suit he wore in the first film.

Reflecting on his Grandma's passing, Momoa says that he "got the news when I was giving a speech to the UN on Aquaman. Talking about saving our beautiful planet. I think the scene didn’t make the cut. But it was a hard day and she was right there with me."

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but it's assumed that a vengeful Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) will be the main villain this time. There's also a good chance that The Trench will feature more prominently, given Wan's fondness for the deep-sea terrors.

The director has also suggested that he'd be returning to his horror roots for Aquaman 2, drawing influence from, of all things, campy '60s Italian horror film Planet of the Vampires.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to swin into theaters next December.
