ComicBook.com recently had the opportunity to talk to Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and the site asked the filmmakers which characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe they're most looking forward to using in Avengers: Infinity War. After Captain America: The Winter Soldier and this latest effort (which is basically an Avengers movie and introduces the likes of Black Panther and Spider-Man), there aren't really all that many superheroes who these guys haven't had the chance to work with, but two names seemed to instantly come to mind.
"The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that's happened before in the MCU so you don't want to get into spoilers but I'm a big fan of what James Gunn has done," Anthony teased. "[Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you'd be very excited." It definitely sounds like he's a lock then, and where Star-Lord goes, so too do the Guardians of the Galaxy. Of course, it's been widely assumed for a while now that this movie would essentially be a crossover between the two teams, so this really isn't that surprising.
Joe meanwhile didn't bother teasing, and instead confirmed that we're going to see Thor in Avengers: Infinity War (which, let's face it, is hardly a spoiler). "I'm excited to work with Thor. They're doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he's gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he's gonna have a real emotional motivation after that." So, still no mention of Daredevil or The Defenders, but hopefully someone will bring them up during the press tour for Captain America: Civil War. What do you guys think about these comments?
