THOR: RAGNAROK Producer Comments On The Possibility Of Hela Appearing In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
Though he doesn't confirm or deny anything outright, in a new interview Thor: Ragnarok producer Brad Winderbaum does seems to hint at the possibility of the villainous Hela showing up in Infinity War...
Ever since it was first revealed that Hela would be the baddie in Thor: Ragnarok, fans have speculated about her continuing role in the MCU going forward - specifically as it relates to Avengers: Infinity War.
In the comics, Thanos falls in love with the personification of Death, and since Hela is the Goddess of Death, a lot of fans have theorized that Cate Blanchett's villain might take that character's place in the movie adaptation.
Screen Rant asked producer Brad Winderbaum about this during their set visit, and although he didn't confirm or deny anything, he does seem to hint at the possibility.
"Obviously we always think about the movies as standalones, even if they do set up a movie down the road or pay off something from a previous film. What we hope, if we do our jobs right, is that Hela is one of the best villains we’ve had – maybe the best, hopefully,” “Cate has been delivering an incredible performance. She’s really scary and really charming. She’s very easy to watch, very fun to be around. But very murderous and horrible at the same time. You’re right that those are things that Thanos values. But when and how she plays into the future of the universe is uncertain now.”"
We'll obviously have to wait and see if Hela has a presence in Infinity War or not, but based on what Winterbaum says here as well as recent comments from others involved with the film, it definitely sounds like Blanchett will reprise the role in some capacity beyond Thor: Ragnarok.
What do you guys think? Should Hela take over from Death in Infinity War, or would you rather they were two separate characters? Sound off below.
