Marvel's Avengers is now available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia, and with the game clearly set to be here for a long time to come (it will eventually be available on the next generation of consoles), there's a lot of excitement surrounding what comes next for this iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Recently, we were lucky enough to catch up with star Jeff Schine to talk about taking on the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America in the hit new video game from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix.

Given the part Cap plays in Marvel's Avengers, we do get into some spoilers here, but have marked those with the handy key below. Needless to say, following in the footsteps of Chris Evans was no easy feat for Jeff, but he did an incredible job and delivered a pitch perfect version of Captain America who has made comic book fans across the globe extremely happy.

Among the other topics covered here are what it was like to wield a motion-capture shield, his interest in live-action superhero movie roles, how the game explores a flawed Steve Rogers, and much more.

We obviously want to extend a huge thank you to Jeff, Crystal Dynamics, and Square Enix, and make sure you follow the new Captain America on Twitter at @JeffSchine and Instagram at @jeffschine.

Bro, Microsoft just acquired Bethesda.

My Cap power level is 134 now. His voicing of Cap has been the best part of the avengers next to Kamala with Widow being the worst.

They emulated the way Chris Evans run in the game. Not sure if I'm looking to much into it though.

My biggest gripe with the game is how long it took for them to come together and how little Thor had to do. I've figured out the challenges and things a little more. The gear is stupid though

@MyCoolYoung -

I noticed the running too. I'm at 129 power level for Cap.

Just got my Cap up to level 68....

And I agree. The Challenge Card stuff took a bit for me to figure out but now that I have, I've got a really good system running. It's also cool that just based off of one character's Challenge Card, you earn enough credits to unlock the DLC character's Challenge card for free, meaning you can get all of their costumes and such without spending a dime

Aside from how little Thor gets to do in the main Campaign (putting aside his cool personal side mission chain) I think the other thing that pisses me off a bit is how bad this game is at explaining itself. I only now just realized that the 3rd screen of level up options completely changed the way I thought about combat, but the game never even prompts me to level that stuff up

@OmegaDaGrodd - facts about the level up. I stumbled upon it randomly actually.

I like that about the challenge card stuff as well. This game will be put too long for me to want to spend money on cosmetics and stuff like that and it's not like we can go against other users, so I just do the challenges.

Do you ever have either of these problems: your stats, mainly defense, being taken once you turn the game off or go into a mission and you have to go to the menu and click some gear to bring it back? Or some of the challenge stuff not being counted?

MyCoolYoung - 9/21/2020, 10:31 AM
@OmegaDaGrodd - and what's the level of your other characters? I've only been able to work on 2. Black widow next because she's so fun to play with

@TheBlueMorpho - is that your highest?

@MyCoolYoung -

So I've not had that particular issue yet with gear, but I definitely feel like my challenges aren't being completed as fast as they should be. It's frustrating but not a big deal most of the time.

Pretty much all my characters are up to around 40-ish. I've not really focused on anyone too much but that's mostly because I'm OCD about these sorts of things and don't like having too much of a disparity. It's really nice getting to learn which Heroic abilities can be leveled up into completely different attack types (for example, you can alter Widow's electric blast to be a high powered electric falcon punch if you want)

So we got interviews with Ms. Marvel, Cap and Iron Man now, does that possibly mean we're getting Black Widow, Thor and Hulk next?

This guy was. the best part of Resident Evil 3 Remake, arguably the only good part. Loved his take on Carlos.

Oh his Captain America is pretty good too.
