There has been an ongoing debate around CBM lately concerning a certain bruise colored archer named Hawkeye. It seems many readers on this site either don't want, or don't think Hawkeye should be featured with his famous bow in 2012's
The Avengers, instead opting for him to feature guns.
We have already heard director Joss Whedon drop hints that he would at least make use of a bow in the film. CBM's
Wolvie09 reported recently that Renner himself told MTV,
"I just have to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow!"
Now, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Renner once again alludes to the fact that he will indeed be sporting his legendary bow.
Are you ready for your role as Hawkeye in “The Avengers”?
It was in my consciousness for sure, and I know what I want to do to prepare, but right now I’m preparing for “Mission Impossible IV.” Cause that came into my life very quickly. Actually I’m going to do stunt training right after this.
What do you know about your character Hawkeye? Have you seen a costume sketch?
I’m blind to all that sort of thing. I know very little about the story. I know a little about the character and how I want to approach it. It’s a very physical character. I’ll be doing archery and training physically as much as I can. Then once I get a script I can dig into the heart of who this guy is.
Hawksblueyes: I love this news. I don't mind if he picks up a gun at some point during the movie but I sure didn't want him to feature one. Hawkeye is an archer, I'm glad they will keep him an archer for the film.
