Which star from the Daily Show and the Office might get a big villain part in the sequel?

Steve Carell (Bewitched, the Daily Show, the Office) is reportedly the new frontrunner to play the Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins.

So says, Batman-on-Film who says Carell’s star is rising at Warner Bros. (he’s doing a Get Smart remake produced by Batman Begins’ Charles Roven).

"...the studio wants to get someone relatively known, and can do comedy and drama. One guy brought up the idea of Steve Carell, star of 'The Office' and the upcoming film 'The 40 Year Old Virgin.' and the studio is starting to like the idea", says the scooper.

Reportedly, Lachy Hulme (M), Paul Bettany (A Knight’s Tale) and Sean Penn (The Interpreter) are also in the running.

Also, Moviehole says there’s no truth to the rumor that Isla Fisher (I Heart Huckabees, The Swimming Pool) is up for the role of love interest in the film. No such part has been written in yet, an insider says.
