Ben as Batman? A little bit of perspective doesn't hurt anyone. Does it now?

Gone are the days when Ben was riding the booty of the once prominent Booty Goddess Jennifer Lopez. Now Ben is his own person; seamlessly distancing himself from his good friend Matt Damon. As an actor Ben isn’t someone we typically root for. His portrayals ranges from gigli to good to maybe great. He has never been known to have the presence to carry his own movie.

Ben although seen as a lead actor, is really just a glorified supporting actor with the ability to pull people in. He is not a lead that takes over movies and really makes it his/her show. Simply put Ben isn’t on the same page as Daniel Day Lewis, Jon Hamm, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Robert Downey Jr.

That is not a knock against him. He on his own right is a well-established character actor. He has proven time and time again that he can play a multitude of roles that shines on screen. The Town, Argo, Good Will Hunting, Chasing Amy, Daredevil come to mind. These movies had him play different characters on different layers. He was a lead/support for Jeremy Renner, the lead in Argo, co-lead in Good Will Hunting, support in Chasing Amy. All of these characters were presented appropriately by Ben. In a way he plays his part and doesn’t overtake the show. He knows his place in a movie and that is his strong suit.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Gigli and Daredevil. More so Gigli as that was one of the worst movies ever made.

Ben as a director is just phenomenal. If you look at his track record it is comparable to the likes of Nolan, Spike Lee, and Terrence Malick. Although he has only made a handful of movies, you can easily tell that he puts a lot of care into crafting a world that his characters will play in. It is quite amazing how grounded and real his set ups are. No other director at the moment can compare in terms of realism.
That said he will have to keep on pushing out great movies for at least 2 decades to be considered one of the elites in the directing circles. The Ang Lee, Spielberg, Cameron, Scorsese, type level.

With many skeptics voicing their opinions. It makes you question: “Why are people such fvcking losers?” Are they merely ignorant? Someone shat on their beds? Mommy didn’t cook their favorite meatloaf? We will never truly know why people hate the notion of a great actor/director tackling an iconic character such as Batman.

At this point a true fan should be grateful and thankful for such a wonderful talent to actually spend his time creating this little fantasy for such fanbase. As fans, many should be excited about the fact that Batman is going to be portrayed alongside Superman. Never been done before!

Ben as actor is an excellent complement to Henry Cavill’s Superman. The young, morally level headed individual raised by amazing people. Opposing that is Ben’s Batman who is supposed to be about 40 years of age and has been through hell and back. A person whose scars can be seen through his eyes, his expertise showcased with the nimblest of actions. It’s a fantastic pairing and twist to the now-mundane Superhero genre.
The real question is. How will the two interact? Will they oppose each other? Or will they come together to form one of the most formidable tandems in history of fiction? All these questions will be answered as early as next year.

Thank you for your time denizens.

^ Damn!

As for BEN as BATS thought it was a joke, still do, cover up for the real casting...

WB done it before!

But then again its HOLLYWOOD, there could be worst for the role and I don't mean he's a bad actor, just not right (MAINLY) for the Bruce Wayne part... anyone can play Batman under the mask if their an actor and look half the part.

DAMON FOR ROBIN!

(Jk) :p

I still don't get it. Like there's something wrong with me, maybe I'm missing some essential component, maybe a cog came loose, I don't know!

But the movies I have seen Ben in... aren't a whole lot.
Daredevil, Armageddon, Dogma, Paycheck, and that's all I've got.

I didn't see Argo. Or Good Will Hunting. Or Gone Baby Gone. And on the opposite end, I haven't seen Gigli.

And I think it's great that he's playing Batman.

What was that at the top, spam comments?

No, they're not faking everyone out, that would be the dumbest thing ever. Affleck will be fine as Batman.

Once again I say, Ang Lee is far overrated as a director. Hulk sucked, in fact it may have redefined the word "sucked," so that alone keeps me from putting him in the same category as the other directors mentioned. I would bet that Affleck will eventually be known as just as good or better.

Finally, I think Affleck is perfectly capable of carrying a movie as the lead. I would rather watch him these days than Cruise. But, for this first movie, he doesn't actually have to do that. He'll be sharing the lead with Cavill.

First, they are desperate to take some wind out of Marvel's cinematic sail.
Second, he's not a bad actor. He's mediocre.
Third, the greater problem is the mess that was "Man of Steel." So many holes in that story and essential departures from the core of the character...it just wasn't good.
