Margot Robbie Wants To See HARLEY QUINN/THE JOKER "End In Flames"

While the fate of Gotham City Sirens appears to still be up in the air, that Harley Quinn/Joker movie is still in the works from the directors of Focus and Margot Robbie has some thoughts on the project.

Suicide Squad delved into the relationship between Harley Quinn and The Joker and as we now know how their romance blossomed, it's hard to say what direction the planned movie featuring the duo will take. However, Margot Robbie may have offered some insight into that by revealing what she's hoping to see from the spinoff and where she believes things between the two iconic villains should go next.

Fans have been speculating for a while now that it will deal with a breakup and the two going to war with each other in order to set up Gotham City Sirens and that's what Robbie has now hinted at.

"Their love story has to end in flames," she tells Female First. "It has to, it just wouldn’t be right. I’m personally a sucker for a love story. In any
iteration I think people enjoy seeing two characters who, in Harley and the Joker’s case, would die for one another. It’s kind of romantic in a messed up way."

It's thought that Joker/Harley Quinn will start production next year so we'll hopefully learn more about what Warner Bros. has planned in the near future. What do you guys think of Robbie's remarks? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that and this movie in the comments section below.

End in flames? Wasn't exactly that what Suicide Squad did to the characters?

WTF? Joker would NEVER die for Harley.

@CinemaJackXCI - People say that a lot lately and its always totally misguided. I'm not even sure the Joker LIKES Harley most of the time, except when he's bored. Die for her? Nuh-uh. He'd never.

@Highflyer - Looking at it more closely... I can see a Comedy Central logo in the corner.

And I just spend 10 seconds looking it up... Its from the show Ugly Americans

Recast the joker... marlyn Manson look alike. He may have done a good job but I felt his character was off and that's the reason

I want that too, but I don't think in the same way as her.

Love story?

By taking out the abuse and domestic violence, they got rid of the most interesting part of their dynamic as well as most integral, and instead it came across as another badly written love story.
THey could have really used it to comment on a subject that is important and in an interesting way.

Instead we get some people on Twitter wanting a relationship like Harley and the Joker.

@SimplyAz - exactly!!!!!

@SimplyAz - Let's be real, WB would get a sh*t ton of controversy and protests if they 100% accurately portrayed their relationship. Business wise, I get it.

@Highflyer - Had they written properly and not glamourised it in any way, and really emphasised Harley as a victim, I think it could have been well received and even praised for a comic movie highlighting an important subject

@Highflyer - That's true.

@SimplyAz - True, but the problem with Harley is that a lot of times, she keeps going back to the Joker. You'd see a sh*t storm of articles and protests of people claiming that they are sending a bad message to girls.

@Highflyer - Well... they deserve a shit ton of controversy and protests for seemingly endorsing domestic violence... so...

@Spock0Clock - Which film are you referring to?

@Highflyer -

I understand what you're saying, as long as they show her going back to a violent abuser is a bad thing, and then when she does turn her back on him, they can show the consequences of such a relationship.
Again I would reiterate that it has to be well written, and not glamorised.

@Highflyer - Pointing guns at each other and selves as a "romantic gesture" ain't exactly a repudiation of it. And honestly the helicopter scene was so chopped to shit that I'm not sure what happened there.

But if the company line is "we stepped right up to the line, but never crossed it", I'm not going to argue. There's a political article that's so much more interesting than another round of the "DCEU is a mess".

@Spock0Clock - Fair enough man.

@Spock0Clock - You don't think its a repudiation of domestic violence in a story to only ever have it committed by depraved lunatics, who are constantly wrong-headed, vile and incorrect in everything they do?
