POLL: Would You Like To See Joseph Gordon Levitt As BATMAN In JUSTICE LEAGUE?

POLL: Would You Like To See Joseph Gordon Levitt As BATMAN In JUSTICE LEAGUE?

For now it's still just a rumor, but a rumor stemming from a very reputable source - so it is quite possible we will see JGL's John "Robin" Blake don the Bat-suit in Warner Bros. planned Justice League movie. How would that sit with you guys?

Yesterday's rumor about Joseph Gordon Levitt stepping into the Batman role for the Justice League movie left many fans in disbelief, but the fact is, Hitfix always has been and remains a pretty rock solid source. I'm not suggesting that Drew McWeeny over there is never wrong, and obviously it's possible he received some bogus info, but I do know he wouldn't have posted it unless he at least believed it. So, there is a possibility we will see Levitt as Batman, either in Justice League or before that, maybe even via a cameo in Man Of Steel.

So how would that go down with you CBMers? I mean there is no doubt JGL is a fine actor, and was very impressive as the heroic Blake in The Dark Knight Rises. Him returning for the Justice League movie would also mean some continuity between future WB/DC projects and Christopher Nolan's Bat-flicks - something a lot of fans have hoped for. On the other hand, it means that the Batman of the JL would not be Bruce Wayne - something I don't think any Bat-fan will get behind, but what's to say we couldn't see them both? Anything is possible. Anyway, we've kept this one pretty simple - a 'yes', a 'no' and since we've heard quite a few fans say they'd be on board as long as Bruce Wayne also popped up, a 'maybe' too. Weigh up the pros and cons and vote away..

Not having Bruce Wayne in JL movie is like the Avengers using Bucky as their Captain America.

It has to be Bruce, llke it has to be Steve.

No.

I love Gordon-Levitt as an actor, and also the inclusion of his character that made for such a great ending to Nolan's trilogy, but bringing him outside of the trilogy where he belongs would be risky and raise a lot more conflicts.

He's better fit for Magic Mike 2.

No thank you. As much as i'm curious as to where this character could go in the Nolanverse, i'd much rather see a rebooted Bruce Wayne int the JLA. I wouldn't be shocked if this happens though. They shot themselves in the foot by making Nolans Bats its own universe and now they need that franchise to feed into this new one. They are grasping for straws when the answer is simple. Reboot Batman for this universe.

1) Notice the positioning of the article - under the one reporting the reps denial. Any idea what that could mean?

2) NOTHING has been proven false. Reps deny everything, EVERYTHING. Chris Evans reps stated flat out that he had no ties to Captain America. I'm not saying it wasn't worth reporting on, but it doesn't change the likelihood of the rumor being true any more than it was yesterday.

@TimTinman, hooray ermm...you're...ermm back...ermm.

I honestly not too worried about JL because this movie will sit in production purgatory for a long time and probably not get made, and if it does. Whoever is playing Batman whether it is Bruce or continuing from Nolan's version is irrelevant because it's a small piece of the big picture.

I like JGL as an actor, and ge worked well in the TDKR, but it would be a HUGE SHAME to bring the JL on screen after decades and not use Bruce Wayne as Batman, I's sorry, but no option here, a new Bruce Wayne, or Bale or just don't do it at all
Darkhaven
Darkhaven - 11/27/2012, 11:31 AM
I'm sorry, but is this a poll on the rumor OF a rumor? Did I get that right?

Okie dokie, I shall play: no! JGL is a cool dude, but he should not be the rumored Batman choice for the rumored WB Justice League movie that WB has been rumoring to be underway since the 80s.

I got to say NO on this I think they should maybe go with someone who's somewhat an unknown like Christian Bale (CB) was at the time he did it cuz "CB" was in a few films not to many over here in America I know many ppl want Army Hammer to play the next Batman but for some reason I just don't see it
Oxion

It seems like everyone motivation for their "no" vote is his body size. But he IS and actor and he can put on muscle. Everyone keeps saying Nightwing but Nightwing was also Batman for a while. I say give him a chance. If there is one thing in CBM's that surprise us is that the things we think would never work or shouldn't, usually do.

Thewonderer just simply loves anything batman related, even if it is connected to that horrible excuse of a batman movie.

Why would anyone consider a non bruce wayne batman?!?!?!?!! Idiots....
AC1
AC1 - 11/27/2012, 12:11 PM
He fits in as Batman for Nolan's universe (I mean, it was the intention of the ending after all), so I could see him play John Blake as Batman in a well made continuation of the series (for example, if the Nolans wrote it and got another talented director in to make it, since Chris seems bored of directing superhero flicks now).

Also, a Nolanverse Batman continuation seems like the best bet at the moment - more Batman for those who want him, but a break from Bruce Wayne and The Joker, more chance to explore obscure Batman villains, and more of a gap between The Dark Knight Rises and the new Bruce Wayne Batman reboot.

But they should absolutely not ever let the Justice League get a hold of him or any element of the Nolanverse, because they're incompatible. The Nolanverse is based in a highly realistic universe - there's no place for the likes of Superman there, let alone the Justice League. Plus, Justice League sounds shit any way, don't drag Nolan's mostly good trilogy down with it.

Not to say that no superheroes could appear in a Nolan Batman film universe, but only the ones that are easy to make realistic - like Green Arrow, a Black Canary minus her sonic scream power, Huntress, a version of The Question who wears a mask rather than having no face, Wildcat, Spoiler, etc.
