THE BATMAN Director Matt Reeves Reveals One Feature His Caped Crusader's Costume WON'T Have

We still don't know whether or not Ben Affleck will be Matt Reeves' Batman but the director has now jokingly revealed one feature that his Caped Crusader's costume will not have. Hit the jump for details!

There's been no official update on The Batman for quite some time but we do know that Matt Reeves is currently rewriting Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns' screenplay and that he intends on directing the movie as well. What we don't know is whether or not Affleck will star in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation and that more than likely hinges on how Justice League is received by fans and critics alike.

In the meantime, Reeves has been asked on Twitter by a fan whether or not he intends on including the Batnipples made famous by Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin and as you can probably guess, they won't be making an appearance in the DC Films Universe. Is anyone really surprised that?

Probably not but it's a relief to know for sure! On a more serious note, you have to hope we'll hear something official about The Batman sooner rather than later because it wasn't that long ago we all expected it to be released next year! At this rate, 2019/2020 seems far more likely and the same goes for the Man of Steel sequel. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

Yes but are there nipples underneath the suit..? That is the real question Matt Reeves must address

The fans demand it.

@BigMikeReviews - Thats why he is technically a metahuman. He's completely normal except he has evolved to not need nipples.

@RolandD - Anything with nipples deserves to be brought to the forefront of news.

Nipples is such a good word.

Nipples. Nipples.

"We all expected it to be released next year"

I think the date has been pushed back to summer 2019 this last july. In place of the next Justice League movie. At least that's what I remember from these very columns.

@MalseMarcel - News is a loosely used term here.

@MalseMarcel - I thought it was going to be the white eyes. I was bracing for disappointment.

I was disappointed because it was trivial anyway but...

PLEASE MR. REEVES! WHITE EYES! DEADPOOL DID IT AND IT DIDN'T SUCK!

At least he could use some white lenses or something for a radar/infrared/whatever else scene a la Dark Knight.

All I want to see is a squinting Bat-glare. If that happened, I'd lose it.

I'm glad the batnipples will not be there. I'm just excited to see a Matt Reeves version of The Batman. The guy is a great director and is very under rated. Hopefully this can launch his name even higher like it did for Nolan.
