THE BATMAN: Three Promo Posters Tease A Dark Knight/Catwoman Team-Up And Reveal A New Tagline

With The Batman fast approaching, we're beginning to see a lot more merchandise for Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation find its way online. Now, we have three new promo posters (these are likely to be found in stores available to buy or adorning toys and games), and they're seriously cool.

As well as debuting a new logo that puts the spotlight on the Dark Knight and Catwoman, we have a badass shot of Robert Pattinson suited up and ready for action as Gotham City's vigilante. The third poster is a little more comic book inspired and boasts the tagline, "I Am The Shadows."

We're expecting to see more imagery like this over the coming weeks and months, but it's clear the color red is going to factor heavily into The Batman's marketing campaign. Seemingly inspired by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's "Dark Victory," it's an awesome idea, and one that makes this Batman really stand out.

The Batman is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.

Also in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022.

“I Am The Shadows”

Oh word?

@BlackBeltJones - think it would be cool to see League of Assassins, Court of Owls and Order of St. Dumas all come to blows in a war for Gotham, with Batman caught right in the middle

@bkmeijer - if we see the League I hope they’re more comic books than the Nolan films.

Seems like Reeves is hinting at the Owls and I wouldn’t mind seeing them as the premiere secret society. It makes everything more Gotham centric and Batman really focusing on fighting at home for his home and Gotham’s very soul.

@BlackBeltJones - I do agree on the League needing to be a bit more out of this world opposite what they did with them in the Nolan movies.

Even though they had a brief appearance in it, I think how they were portrayed in the Under the Red Hood movie is a good way of utilizing them.

@BlackBeltJones - a bit ot but the character on the right is in last weeks young justice standing next to talia and Damian when Cheshire goes to infinity island. I mean that’s gotta be Jason Todd right?

@AmazingFILMporg

Haha I didn’t like it, man. There were scenes/moments that I really enjoyed but it didn’t come together for me. One of the first Marvel movies I’ve seen where I felt they didn’t know what they wanted that movie to be.

I liked Thena, Makkari, Gilgamesh. I loved Druig, Keoghan was so good and his character was the most interesting for me.

Kingo is interesting - because some of his jokes had me rolling. The iPad-Tablet joke had me cracking up. But the documentary thing was a bit over the top and kind of felt forced.

Did not care for Ikaris or Cersei. I thought they were both really bland and surprisingly uncharismatic.

Visuals were nice, but they didn’t stick the landing with this one for me. Right now I think I have it below Captain Marvel which is something I didn’t think I would ever say about this movie.

And SPOILERS:

Starfox’s intro was also 🤌🏻 Loved that. Even though his sidekick looked horribly animated haha.

I think they could take these characters in really interesting directions - and I didn’t hate the movie but it just didn’t compel me like I thought it would.

But I had a very nice night at the theater 👍🏻👍🏻
