In anticipation of Justice League hitting theatres next month, special collector steelbook editions of Man of Steel and the ultimate edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are set to be released on October 31, and we have your first look at the covers right here.

The illustrations come courtesy of acclaimed artist and DC Entertainment co-publisher Jim Lee, and feature colourful new depictions of two of DC Comics' most iconic heroes.

Will you be picking either or both of these up? Let us know in the comments below.

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Can't imagine double-dipping on these two.

@theFUZZ008 -
Meh. I already own the previous steelbooks for both films. They should call it... Man of Steelbook.

@HappyHater - The movie inside the BvS cover is better...

@HappyHater -
What @Highflyer said. I didn't even like the theatrical version, and the Ultimate Edition was much better (probably because the theatrical was incomplete and disjointed; the terrible Lex Luthor doesn't help).

@Darkknight2149 - While I initially didn't like Lex in the theatrical cut that much, his plan in the Ultimate Edition did make me like him a little more. And him ordering the murder of the fake witness was savage lol

@Highflyer - Eh, all the UC did for me was to turn an incoherently terrible film into a coherently terrible one.

@Highflyer -
I felt mostly the same. I hated Jesse Eisenberg's performance, but he was much scarier when you actually see his plan in effect in the Ultimate Edition. If the upcoming DCEU films can tone down his over-the-top performance and make him more like the master manipulator he was in the Ultimate Edition, I think Jesse Eisenberg can be redeemed.

Besides, this scene in The Social Network showed that he can play a better Lex than what we saw in BvS.

@Darkknight2149 - I hear what you're saying. I think if he was more tamed it would of been better. That's why I hated the speech he gave at the charity. Not the speech itself but how he started twitching in public.

@Highflyer - That part took me a while to understand:
His speech starts off alright, non-twitchy, and I noticed that he starts to get nervous and twitchy because he sees that his Russian goon is in the crowd - he realizes everything could go up in smoke if anyone starts connecting him and the russian guy so he starts freaking out and abandons his speech
