Though things are sure to change once Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters next week, Black Adam is holding strong at the box office for the third weekend in a row.
The Dwayne Johnson-led DC Comics movie took in a not-too-shabby $18.5 million in North America this weekend for a domestic total of $137.3. Globally, the movie currently sits at $250 million (it's expected to pass $300M by COB tonight).
This is by no means a bad result - especially when you consider that the last DCU movie, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, tapped-out at roughly $168M - but with a reported $195 million budget, Black Adam still has a ways to go before it can be considered a success for the studio.
Though studios/actors tend to downplay the importance of reviews, there's no getting around the likelihood that Black Adam probably would have fared a lot better if it received a slightly more positive reception from critics (it's now slipped down to 40% on Rotten Tomatoes), as word-of-mouth can really sink/lift a movie - especially at this stage of its release.

"From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods— and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."
Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life, Rush Hour 3) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express, The Mummy) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers, Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the Mamma Mia! and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.
Black Adam is now in theaters.
