Find Out How Long 'Peter Parker' Has Been SPIDER-MAN In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

A couple of new tidbits relating to the Webhead's role in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War for you here. It seems that when we're first introduced to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in the movie, he'll have had a few swings around the city under his belt already...

We should be getting our first official look at Captain America: Civil War fairly soon, but in the meantime here's an interesting bit of Spidey info. from Heroic Hollywood. According to the site, Peter Parker will have been active as Spider-Man for a little over a year when we first meet him in the Marvel threequel, and, like the Ben Affleck's incarnation of the Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, "Spider-Man is considered a myth, an urban legend."

Apparently by the time we catch up with Peter in the standalone Spider-Man flick, he'll have been doing his thing for two full years.

Not much, but it's good to know we won't have to sit through another damn training montage anyway!

"Spider-Man is considered a myth, an urban legend."

Why can't they just keep with the comics version......from the start of Spidey's career...he's always been in the face of the media....not hiding like Batman...

Revert back to Sony! ;)

"Why can't they just keep with the comics version."

Is that not the same direction as the last two Spidey franchises? You really want another Spidey origin story?

And we don't have to see his uncle die again too!

@Brainiac13 That's not really deviating from his comic-book counterparts, plus if this rumor is true, then why would anyone know who Spider-Man is?

In the MCU, he's obviously not fought any real villians yet.

Hes inexperienced so learning from the Avengers and being thrust onto the world at age via The Accords, is a great and fresh way to reveal himself. He's at the begining of his career...he's not completely the spidey we know yet. He's just stopping purse snatchers and what not. He's an amateur superhero. He's a myth but there's really no serious evidence of his existence maybe yet. But someone like Stark would maybe be keeping an eye on him. The Accords could force him to come out.

This makes sense. Parker is still young so he doesn't work at the Bugle yet. J. Jonah is probably fuming right now.

@DurtyTalynt

it doesn't matter, that happened in other parts of the world, New York didn't see any Ultron action aside from the Tower attack (to much joy of the citizens :P)

and to be fair with the "urban legend" thing, that also happened in the first episode of Spectacular Spiderman.

I know it's very likely there won't be a full origin story in his first standalone movie, but it would be cool if they did a flashback or dream/nightmare sequence of when he was bit by the spider which gave him his powers (and maybe when Uncle Ben was shot). That way his origin story is in there (sort of) but it's over and done with in a few minutes (if that) and we won't have to go through the whole damn thing for a third time.

While I can't condone Marvels decision to make Aunt May sexually appealing bringing Simmons back as J.J.J will make up for it.

Well...considering the source...

If it were true I don't care for the urban legend route whether it be the BvS Batman or Spidey. The BvS Batman is old(er), which means he should be way beyond just being an urban legend.

@Omarvls WHY would anyone want ASM3??? HAHA.

yea man we don't need another origin. He's in a world of other heroes now. It's not just him. His actions and circumstances may affect other heroes. If his begining as spidey coincides with Civil War and The Accords, it only makes sense to tie his inception into those things. Daredevil is viewed as just some vigilante in a small borough on NYC. His actions aren't as grand, yet, as the other MCU heroes. Spidey is a hero who SWINGS around Manhattan.....he's noticeable. Stark would take notice of this. The Accords would as well. Spidey is a hero who's prime to be trained and mentored as he's a young hero who is operating in a city that's on the world stage. The Avengers seem to be recruting too. Stark recruiting a young new hero and getting him on the side of The Accords, bodes well for what he wants for the future of the avengers

A hero who's only existed for a year, makes sense being a myth and urban legend.

I don't know if it could fit in the timeline but I can a flashback where a young boy named Peter Parker was saved by the Avengers during the chitrauri invasion in NY shortly before he had his powers. So yeah the Avengers could be a real inspiration for him.

Wait a minute! I'm calling bullshit on this! You mean to tell me there's a guy swinging around on webs in New York city and nobody sees this shit? Urban legend? Man, this better be a lie! Or Marvel just thinks people are straight up crazy.

Maybe the media and the cops want to portray him as a myth as they don't condone vigilantism. DD is fairly supported in HK cause he's a guy protecting his hood. Fed up with the crime and corruption. His actions aren't as large and impactful...he's not on the world stage. As The Accords begin, maybe spidey is viewed like the avengers, a hero who's actions can create grave consequences as he operates in downtown Manhattan, a big place. The media has never liked spidey anyway. It's not like he's iron man flying around, clearly visible. He could be doing his best not to be seen. Without a definitive photo or video, he's a labeled a myth. It's a legit label. There ar prb those who beleive he exits and those, the cops, who don't want to believe it

Darkknight23 - 9/18/2015, 8:53 AM
@ Ramiel that makes a lot more sense then Spiderman being an urban being an urban legend. And I'm not saying batman In bvs given the amount of time he's been operating and what's he's been doing makes a lot of sense. But a guy in a red and blue suit swinging off of webs day or night in New York isn't an urban legend. That dude had been seen. A lot!

So that means he got bit at the same time as winter soldier I'm guessing. God just please give us the superior spiderman suit we need something new. I'm excited to finally see spiderman where he belongs. Remember when everyone couldn't even imagine this would happen??!?
