THE MARVELS' Social Media And Review Embargo Lifts VERY Close To Release Date, Likely To Protect Spoilers

With rumours swirling that The Marvels will feature a game-changing cameo appearance, it probably won't surprise you to learn the review embargo is later than usual for a new Marvel Studios blockbuster.

Embargoes are a tricky thing. Sometimes, a studio will stop critics from sharing their thoughts on a new movie or TV show until right before it's released because they know reviews will be bad and are looking to do as much damage limitation as possible.

Other times, however, it's because a movie is shrouded in such a great deal of secrecy - Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home, for example - they simply don't want the biggest surprises to be ruined for fans.

The Marvels blasts into theaters on November 10 (well, November 9 if you count Thursday evening previews) and we've learned today that the social media embargo lifts on Tuesday, November 7 at 9pm PT. As for full reviews, those won't go live until November 8 at 9am PT.

So, should you be worried?

In short, we don't think so. As we first reported yesterday evening, Marvel Studios is said to have added a huge, game-changing cameo to the sequel which has major ramifications for the MCU moving forward. Clearly, Kevin Feige and company are looking to get rid of the narrative that The Marvels is a breezy 90-minute movie that may or may not be worth seeing in theaters.

Ironically, this cameo does seem to have been spoiled in advance, but a few hints from self-proclaimed online scoopers are a lot different to, say, Variety, namedropping the character in a review (as we're pretty sure they did with Harry Styles' Starfox in Eternals).

As always, you'll want to keep checking back here for more on The Marvels as we have it.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

I want this to be good, but......

It smells like a goofy 3 Stooges rainbow chicks in space movie.

I hope they delete the opening credits scene of Mickey the Rat furiously rapid-fire box checking on his office whiteboard.

Headline is phrased to suggest that a spoiler will be revealed in the article.

In the article it is only revealed that there is a spoiler cameo, but not who the cameo is by.

"Journalism".

Josh... like, come on, my man... It's one thing to be on copium (which is something most MCU fans are on). But it's another to be this much of a consumer.

You know very well why the MCU handled this movie the way they did.

I can't remember who here said it, but how could they have thought a movie with 3 female leads vs. a female villain, would have mass appeal? I wanna believe this will be an entertaining movie, even if not a very good one, but there has to be something for all people to connect with.
