THE MARVELS TV Spot Finally Reveals MCU's Comic-Accurate Take On The Kree Supreme Intelligence

Many fans were disappointed when Captain Marvel scrapped scenes featuring a comic-accurate Supreme Intelligence, but a new TV spot for The Marvels has revealed the villain's overhauled appearance...

In Captain Marvel, the Supreme Intelligence takes on the form of the person it's talking to admires most. In the case of Carol Danvers, that was Annette Bening's Mar-Vell, though for many fans, it felt like a lame way to avoid showing the comic-accurate version of the Kree artificial intelligence.

We'd later learn that a scene with a classic Supreme Intelligence was shot and later cut, but a new promo for The Marvels confirms we'll see that giant face in all its grotesque glory in the sequel next weekend.

While it is more robotic in its appearance than a literal floating head in a giant jar, it's hard to find fault with this interpretation (and, despite what we just said, that does look an awful lot like a jar upon closer inspection). If filmmaker Nia DaCosta has embraced the source material in such a big way for this Kree leader, then something tells us we're in for a treat with what else is to come in the movie.

A couple of years ago, Captain Marvel production designer Andy Nicholson explained that the comic-accurate Supreme Intelligence was supposed to show up when Carol Danvers became Binary.

"It was there. We did develop a line where within that space from the big pool of water in the back of the room, that eventually, that's where the big green head would come out of. I think eventually for the final scene of the movie, it would've taken away from what was the core focus which was."

"It would've been a big spectacle which would've overwhelmed the main thrust of what we were doing which was talking about Carol's development and transformation into Captain Marvel."

Take a closer look at The Marvels' take on the Supreme Intelligence below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

Josh’s sentence couldn’t have been more confusing if he tried. Essentially: “The face is a little more robotic, than a giant head in a jar like we’d prefer, but we doubt any of you can disagree with us that it looks as good as we want it too - especially since it actually looks like a giant head in a jar”. Man that guy needs to take a writing class - pronto. Horrible so-called “journalism”. Dude needs to stop talking in multiplicities too…

Now if they could just explain how/why they turned Mar-Vell into a woman, without woke ideologies coming into play 😏.

Disney’s been doing a lot of “Woopsies” damage control lately. Good thing they listen to complaints, but this movie is gonna bomb so hard… I wonder what they’ll do with the characters after.

It's not comic accurate. And it's too little too late. Should've shown it in the first movie.

I can tell some of this movie will show that Carol went back and destroyed the Supreme Intelligence, but I doubt she truly lays waste to Hala. My one theory is that the villain is from another universe where her Carol actually DID massacre the Kree, and she came to this reality to extract revenge on this version of Carol

They should be much more concerned about the Supreme Apathy this movie is being met with.

This movie (allegedly) cost $270 million + to make.
It looks like a low budget TV show.
"Hollywood accounting".

I was beginning to think the phrase "Comic accurate" was a bad thing seeing as how people would jump down your throat for wanting it. I guess it depends on what, or who it is.

@DarthOmega - opinions always vary. Also comic accurate can mean different things depending on the varying comics and takes at this point.

@DarthOmega - here, I'll give you a cheat sheet. If wb or Sony are being comic book accurate, it's bad and should've been changed.

If disney keeps it accurate, it's great and shows they have loyalty to the brand.

If it's wb or Sony making inaccurate changes, it's bad and they should strive to be more faithful to the comics.

If it's disney, it's good because they clearly needed to change that.

@Origame - Funny how that works.

@Slotherin - I guess. I just feel it's always better when you stick to the source material as much as possible.

@DarthOmega - depends what it is. I'm glad they haven't adapted the Clone Saga or had Doc Ock swap bodies with Spider-Man. Some things work okay in the medium of long running comics but not so great on screen in film format.
