Luke Skywalker and the ragtag band of rebels fighting against the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory yet—the destruction of the massive battle station known as the Death Star. But the Empire's not toppled yet! Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and the rest of the Rebel Alliance as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor. Written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), this is the Star Wars saga as only Marvel Comics could make it!

Given that I [frick]ing love Star Wars, and have read quite a few comics, I think it's the optimal time to regularly follow a series as it is released

The Alex Ross and Joe Quesada variants are my favourite. Why couldn't one of those be the main cover, instead of Cassaday's drab cover? So sick of covers with lazy white backgrounds.

@ShadowakaTankD

The green rabbit is a character that was created for the original Marvel Star Wars comic run back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Pretty sure the character was never used after that (thank goodness). I mean, it's pretty goofy.

Hence the joke presented on the cover. One of those characters best left forgotten.

On a side note, the Marvel SW comic from back then actually introduced Jabba before his appearance in RotJ, but he wasn't the rotund Hutt we know... he was presented as a slightly alien looking biped. Not a massively overweight slug-like alien.
